Easter is Forever ... Jesus is Alive

So much has been written, and talked about on television, about the unique nature of Easter 2020.  Our churches will be empty, restaurants closed, egg hunts cancelled, even our family gatherings will be virtual (if we are able to get together at all).  The consensus seems to be that Easter will not be the same.

BUT, I would like to point out that Easter will be exactly the same!  Our celebrations and observances will differ greatly from what we have come to expect and experience.  But our experiences are simply side notes to the single greatest moment that our universe has ever seen.

The first Easter, if the women had not come to the tomb, if they had not spoken to the angel, if they had not had a conversation with the risen Lord or run to tell His followers, Jesus Christ would still be alive and the tomb would still be empty.

Easter is not the summary of our celebrations.  It is the defining moment of history when Jesus overcame death, hell, and the sin and suffering of the human condition.  Nothing can change that!

We may dye eggs, bake hams and dress our best, or we may stay in our pajamas and watch church online.

Either way, Jesus is Alive!

Happy Easter Everyone!

The Passover, not the bunny that lays eggs. The Sabbath is the foundation.

I agree with you, John.

Also, all Christians should be aware of the Jewish origins of our faith.  Judaism and Christianity are "joined at the hip" by a common origin, and that fact has manifested itself in the alliance between the United States and Israel.

Thanks for the information, John.  I first found out about this possibility several months ago, from a good friend who's an astronomer.  Because of the distance from us, even a close call could be several light years away from each other, but there would definitely be gravitational effects between the two stars.  But there's no doubt that an actual collision would be an astounding light display!
