What I discovered with Hams is a many of them are intelligent, but have no real clue of how RF works, and many of them are shall we say social misfits, not exactly chick magnets.

 

For a couple of decades prior to e-bay I had a side business buying surplus government communications equipment, there where literally times where most of rooms in my home where stacked floor to ceiling with two-way radios, my girlfriend now wife tolerate it because we both made money selling it at the Miami Hamfest.

 

We had a good plan, I would rent a few tables and stack them high with Motorola and G.E. radios, mobiles, handhelds, pagers, you name it we, or more correctly she sold them.

 

It was a radio version of Hooters, she would wear a pair of shorts that barely covered her bottom and bra-less a tank-top that was cut right below her breasts, male Hams would walk by and would stop and begin drooling, there was a smorgasbord, tables covered with commercial communications equipment and a smoking hot young blonde girl working the table.

 

I would abandon the table and leave her alone, on the back of the table where file cards with the price I wanted for each unit, she had a Motorola Slimline HT220 clipped to her back pocket, sort of a prop, but seldom used it, to communicate with me as I roamed around, she is very intelligent and could answer most questions about the units.

 

And she had two back pockets, one where she put the money I wanted for the units and the other where she put the money she made on the markup. 

 

We would literally go home with $400 or so in her markup pocket, and in two weekend days she would earn $800+ selling what I called junk.

 

But getting back to Hams, I never had a reason to be one, I became licensed on a dare from another dealer at the Miami Hamfest, he was doing the same thing as we where, but with no female at the table, if he ever had a date with one he would probably put her to sleep talking about bands, skip and how well his repeater was working, not exactly stuff a female would care about.

 

But that's a typical Ham, lots of chatter, but no real useful content and many times what they are speaking about is technically incorrect, I'm a rude person and don't mesh well with people and when I hear a Ham saying something that is technically incorrect, I tend to correct him and because of that have gotten into a number arguments with Hams who didn't appreciate my corrections

That stated I strongly recommend you take a course in self defense with a firearm, that going to cost you a few bucks, but if you are ever involved in a self defense shooting it will save you a lot of money when you are dragged into civil court.

This is sad. Are we headed for a future that guarantees the end of our Constitutional Republic? Freedom is always only a generation away from being history. If there ever was a time to come together and form strong state militias ITS RIGHT NOW.

I think we're all going to get a Crash Course in economics, politics and history, over the next few years.

 

No one knows the future, but there is a good chance it will not just be the usual we-win-and-then-they-win back-and-forth

of politics, where -- if you had been in a coma before the election and woke up after the election, you would actually not be

able to tell who had won, because everything would be going on as before.

Leadership is not given but earned. Anyone who desperately wants to be in power or control mostly always has bad intentions. A person who doesnt want any power is always a better candidate for the title, for they will do a better job cause they dont want to let their Team/Group down, all they need is a little push or to be taught how to become a good Leader.

Yes and no, I have learned long ago most people will not lead, but will follow someone who does, even if that person is not qualified for the job .

 

I will give you a perfect example, I was out boating with a friend of mine, when we got back at the dock it was mayhem, people where trying to launch, while others where trying to pull out of the water, lots of constant bickering, but no leadership.

 

I got off the boat I was on and took charge, I started telling boaters get your trailer down there and load up, I advised others to get down the ramp and launch, everyone assumed I had some kind of authority because I was making the process work.

 

I had no authority to do so, all I wanted was to clear the traffic jam and get our boat out of the water so we could head to a local watering hole and get drunk.

 

But I took charge in a very strong manner and the sheepeople went along with my program.

I feel sorry for you, I grew up in Broward and in the past two decades it has turned into a very expensive s-hole to live in.

 

That stated please hang around, I believe this site is going to jell up and become a major asset for those who want to keep the U.S. on the correct track.

 

I pray to the Lord we can do it without violence simply by a show of superior force and determination to maintain what is proper and correct. 

 

What scares the crap out of me is Trump getting reelected, which I hope he does, but I think the insurgents will go ape-chit if that happens and who knows how far they are going to push the anarchy once that does happen.

Hey Wayne, yeah its not what it used to be down here anymore. I dont know how old you are or what part of broward you grew up in but you stand correct it sucks down here im trying to get my ass outta here before shtf and im running out of time. It seems groups down here are more interested in prepping for self reliance than anything else. Which is good we all need to be prepared for anything and everything but without extensive proper training South Floridians will perish.
