As for my age, lets put it this way, I lived in Broward for 59 years and was moved  there as a child. 

 

I'm sure you know the area, so consider this, as a early teen I and my friends where not legally allowed to possess a firearm, during summer vacation we would take our rifles get on our bikes ride over to the 7-11 that was on SW 27 Ave just North of Davie Blvd, then using our saved allowance buy a brick of 100 .22 rifle rounds, we would then ride West on Davie Blvd to where University Ave is now, we would set up some homemade paper targets and have a good time learning how to aim a rifle, I don't remember the brand, but I had a bolt action .22 rifle which had a tube magazine, we would go through our ammo and then head back home.

 

While we traveled we where observed by many law enforcement officers, none of whom would stop us and ask what we where up to, during summer break it was normal for teenage boys to go out riding their bikes, carrying rifles to go and shoot some targets.

 

We would never consider shooting another person, our parents instilled into us that was morally wrong, and if we did something that so wrong, we would spend the rest of our lives in prison, and after burning in He** forever.

 

When I was in Junior High (New River) I joined a shooting team, again we where too young to possess a firearm, but on each Wednesday we would bring our rifles to school and after school we would assemble on the playground and a couple of coaches would set up targets and teach us how to shoot and hit targets at 100 yards.

 

As we changed class's we carried our rifles from class to class and no one cared or was triggered by seeing our rifles, actually a lot of times other students would come over to us at lunch to check out the rifle we had.

 

Life and living was so different back then it isn't funny, but I am very grateful to have lived in that time frame, I made some really good friends, learned a lot about shooting and gun safety.

 

Contrast that to today, and what would happen if a child brought a rifle to school, with good intentions.

I think I have seen 3 people from your area  posting here, dig through the thread and you might be able to get something going locally.

Wanted to let you all know, I gave up on my 223, for a  9mm rifle as my primary.  Now, I have unwanted 223 but don't know where to go where I can legally sell it.

Keep in mind you will need to ship that ammo through UPS shipping, sending it through the USPS is a federal offense, also you are required to affix a ORM-D label to the outside of the package and you must take the package to a UPS depot, not a drop box or UPS store.
