Operator Axe: 5.11 Tactical’s Insanely Functional Tactical Tool

Recommended Posts

If you think you’re acquainted with functionality, but you haven’t used 5.11 Tactical’s new Operator Axe, you might want to rethink your definition of “functionality.”

Designed exclusively with Kyle Lamb of Viking Tactics, the VTAC Operator Axe is designed for almost every possible field task you can think of with a total of 24 tools and functions. The bearded axe features a hammer pry bar, wrench, sockets, metric and standard markings and hex wrench openings.

The pry bar or axehead can be used to pry through doors or windows without losing your grip thanks to a jimped shaft and handle. With an ambidextrous two-piece sheath, belt and MOLLE compatibility, and a rubberized retention strap, this axe can be taken anywhere, safely and securely.

Constructed using SCM 435 Stainless Steel, the Operator Axe features a subdued black oxide finish, an overall length of 15 inches and a weight of 1 pound, 10 ounces, without the sheath. The sheath adds an extra 5 ounces to the weight.

Due to its popularity, the Operator Axe is currently sold out, but you can bet it’ll be back soon!
