Shortly after 2AM CST Monday morning, six people were shot in Minneapolis, MN in two separate shootings across the Twin Cities.

Minneapolis Police spokesman Corey Schmidt said one of those shootings took place outside the Minneapolis Police Department’s downtown precinct, confirming someone opened fire just outside the MPD, injuring two men (not police officers).

Minneapolis police officers, who heard the shots, responded immediately to the scene of the shooting where they found two men who had both sustained gunshot wounds to the leg. After establishing a crime scene, officers found a handgun in a parking lot near the scene of the shooting,
.

About 15 minutes later, officers then heard multiple shots about a block away, according to Schmidt. They found four victims — three men and one juvenile — wounded when they arrived at the corner of Hennepin Avenue South and 4th Street South.

The early morning shootings wounded six people, one victim is currently listed in serious condition at Hennepin County Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Although police have not identified any suspects in the first shooting, one man was taken into police custody in connection with the second shooting. Police are working to determine if the man has ties to the first shooting or to the handgun the recovered from the parking lot near the police precinct.

Interestingly enough, Schmidt told reporters this morning that all six victims have been and remain “uncooperative” with the investigation.

Sounds like a bunch of Presbyterian NRA members to me, amiright? *snark
