Chicago Aunt Gave Gun to Teen, Said “Shoot That B***h.”

The trial of Vandetta Redwood begins in Chicago (IL) for allegedly giving her 14-year-old niece a .38 caliber revolver as a means of physically ending a Facebook dispute over a boy.

 

When the argument took place, around 20 people were around.

 

Redwood’s cousin, Donnell Flora initially provided the teen with the gun. She handed the gun back to Flora. That’s when Redwood took the gun and gave it back to the teen.

 

“Shoot that b***h,” Redwood told her niece as she handed over the revolver. Redwood’s own 12-year-old daughter stood nearby and watched the attack take place.

 

Redwood’s niece used the revolver to shoot to 14-year-old Endia Martin and Martin’s 16-year-old best friend. Martin was killed as a result of the shooting. Her friend, however, survived.

 

When investigators initially interviewed Redwood she tried saying she was nowhere near the crime scene.

 

I wasn’t there until after the fight. I don’t know nothin’ about no gunshot. I wasn’t even (expletive) there. Why the (expletive) would I give her the (expletive) gun to shoot somebody, she’s 14?

 

After detectives left the interview room, video shows Redwood talking to herself about the case.

 

I ain’t gonna let nobody put (expletive) on me. I’m not going down. I’m not going down for nobody. … I ain’t never had no case, and I ain’t never gonna get one.

 

Investigators uncovered a cell phone video showing Redwood yelling outside the Back of Yards home. Instead of trying to break up the fight, she encouraged it.

 

Redwood is facing first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder for supplying her niece with the gun. She is also facing federal weapons charges which, if prosecuted, would land her in jail for 15 years.

 

 

Earlier this year, Flora was charged with first-degree-murder and was sentenced to 100 years in prison.

 

The niece, who is now 17-years-old, is facing murder charges.

 

Her name is not being released because she is being tried as a minor.
