Recommended Posts

A lot has happened in 2016; there were more police-related shootings, terrorist attacks and attempted robberies; liberals continued to push gun control; news of gun violence was twisted by the media; and Second Amendment advocates were given hope when Donald Trump was elected president.

If you feel like you’ve missed something, here are ten of this year’s most compelling stories.

False Narratives

Back in September, Tulsa, Oklahoma, police officer Betty Shelby shot and killed Terence Crutcher. Various media outlets reported that Crutcher was shot while standing in the middle of the road with his hands up. However, video footage from a police helicopter tells a different story.

Hostage Taker Gets Taken Out

Back in January, a man attempted to rob a check-cashing store in Texas. However, an employee triggered the alarm. When police got there, the robber had taken a hostage. One of the officers then grabbed his patrol rifle and fired at the suspect. Needless to say, the robber didn’t get away.

Under the Gun

Katie Couric and her director Stephanie Soechtig are facing a $12 million defamation lawsuit for a scene in their anti-gun documentary, Under the Gun. The scene was edited to look like a gun rights group in Virginia was unable to answer a question on background checks. However, an unedited recording of the interview revealed that the gun rights group answered Couric’s questions without a problem.
