What started out as a simple case of a Good Samaritan confronting two men about littering could possibly turn into something much bigger. A closer look at the car from which the two men were littering revealed a cache of weapons, ammunition, and bomb-making materials.

Brothers Abdullah Alrifahe, 27, and Majid Alrifahe, 26, were arrested on May 11 in Minneapolis and charged with weapons violations. The local CBS affiliate, WCCO-TV, reported that Abdullah had recently been released from jail for a previous weapons conviction; he’s now facing a felony weapons charge, and his brother is facing a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

Inside the brothers’ car, police found a loaded AK-47, another rifle, a handgun, a grenade, large amounts of ammunition, and what would later be identified as bomb-making materials, including a drone.

The Good Samaritan, who requested to remain anonymous out of fear for his safety, says the charges don’t go far enough: “For what they found in their car, that is way too light.”

The brothers were born in Iraq and later moved to the United States. Their ties to the Middle East could make this more than just a mere weapons violation, and the FBI and Department of Homeland Security have been called on to take a look at the incident.
