Financial Preparedness: Are You Prepared Enough?

Recommended Posts

#3 is a really good investment. Find the cheapest straight vodka you can in glass (not plastic) bottles and store it.  Another suggestion if you're going to use ammo or components to barter is get with a couple of local FFLs and ask what the most common caliber they sell is. Chances are 9mm is a sure bet, but 30-30 may be more prevalent than 308 in your area (it is in mine).

Gun smithing is a good skill

I won't trade bullets or guns it's far to risky.

Growing a garden....if people only knew it wasn't just tossing in seeds and waiting.  You better master it now and relax when it happens.  Chickens layers and meat birds are good sources of food.  Which also means food for them chickens are nature's garbage disposal.

Pigs and cows are also good to have.

Joel salatin would be a great resource to read up on farming

Lots of good experience to learn from Joel. The Rhodes have good videos as well, plus they involve their kids.

Just remember that if one can't grow your own food...you are going to barter heavily to get some, or you will become a thief/murderer.

The problem isn’t that we ignore the potential of a financial collapse, it’s that we have an unrealistic idea of what it is. People talk about a financial collapse as if it were a total and complete collapse of society.

The only way to assume one could prep enough is to know that you are completely self sufficient...and even then you still have to continually work for food and other survival needs. The hardiest pioneers and homesteaders still wanted to barter for something...even if it was just to have an excuse to socialize.
