I remember this. Its very old. While a good starter resource, it needs updating for modern use.

I stated in the title it was from1994.

Well fixer asked for help, I went looking... I figured this was out dated however basics is basics... it is why ancient military strategies are still studied...  even the battles of the Civil war.

Besides... didn't see anyone else jumping in to assist with information...

Not saying it was bad.   Additional books if you get into the science of killing.   On combat and on killing.   Our team was required to read both.

Teaches the failure of training people for combat and how we changed it after ww2.  Also goes into the mind of killing and dealing with trama.

The failing that book has it that it addresses militias that are supported by conventional forces.  Westmoreland never organized a civilian militia.  Maybe one day, someone who has actually organized a militia will write a book about it.  There were plenty of those guys around in the 1990s.

I'll read that if you do.

Basics are basics. Outdated? Yes. But a good foundation as a starting point. Have to start somewhere.

Depeneds on what basics.   If your teaching from a ww2 and lower stand point your teaching a outdated way to fight and train.  You need to use more modern ways like we been doing from the Korean war and up.

A lot of third world countries used the ww2 model for training and that's one of the reasons they loose so badly.   That's why you will see 10 percent of your men will be the only ones firing a rifle

I meant just a base or structure, not technique or tactics.  Definitely needs to be revised but its a start point to rebuild.

I co-founded the largest civilian militia in the United States.  Some of what I read when it comes to recruitment and organizing from most of the links is inadequate and does not take into account a myriad of other factors.  Maybe you can use stuff like that and then learn from it.

It is unfortunate that there are no really good materials out there for recruiting.  When I moved into this neighborhood, we held a meeting at my house and the neighbors got to meet militia members.  We ended up not recruiting anyone.  A couple of weeks ago, many of my neighbors were burglarized / robbed.  Even a cop's house got hit.  So, now they want to have a block party.  They want to discuss security for the neighborhood.

That is the second best way to find potential recruits for the militia since what we teach covers home security.  I don't know if anyone heard that part in our opening spiel.  We're finding out on this board that people will continue posting available material from other sources, but most of it inadequate... like rehashing the statutes on what the federal law says a militia is composed of (the statutes in conflict with both original intent AND standing precedents.)

We aren't even agreed on this board as to what the militia IS because the founders did a really poor job of telling us how to run civilian militias when the government became tyrannical, oppressive and enforcing unconstitutional laws.

I agree, it takes some study and digging of the founders writings to back up what most of us inherently understand.  I'm sure if they knew how their words would be purposefully misinterpreted to bastardize the Constitution they probably would have changed the wording a little bit and perhaps added to it to make it a little more clear to the common folks.

I ran through the 30 pages it's ok. Seems like it's written for a 80s and 90s militia style from a cold war stand point.

One should consider that most militias in the other countries that collasped all started with good intentions but slowly evolved into war lords fighting over territory and goods

A common problem I see with the modern militias is that they view the public as their support and beleive they will be supplied by them for the act of providing security or defending you.

My problem with that is who put you in charge of my land and neighbors?   I may not want you around and no I won't supplies you with anything I have.  My families needs come before yours.

It's a darker view of the militias because we don't often want to think about the bad that comes with power.
