Anti-Gunners Freak Over Kavanaugh Confirmation

It’s all over but the crying. Brett Kavanaugh is an associate justice of the Supreme Court. Despite every single effort that the Democrats could muster, they were unable to derail his confirmation.

And they certainly tried.

Now that it’s over, anti-gun groups are in absolute hysterics that Kavanaugh was confirmed.

Groups dedicated to combatting gun violence groups issued statements lamenting the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh, which they said will lead to the Supreme Court’s drifting further in the direction of the pro-gun lobby.

The Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, named for former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords who was herself a victim of gun violence, said Kavanaugh’s ascension to the court is “indefensible” considering what that group called his “extreme positions on the Second Amendment”.

The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, meanwhile, called Saturday’s confirmation a “sad day for America.”

In a fiery statement, Brady co-presidents Kris Brown and Avery Gardner said that Kavanaugh lacked the ability to be impartial on the subject of gun control, citing both his testimony and the NRA’s financial support of his confirmation.

“He is a Second Amendment extremist who rationalized his belief during the confirmation process that assault weapon bans are unconstitutional by claim that assault weapons are ‘common’ because ‘millions and millions’ of them are owned in the United States. And when a survivor of gun violence stands before the Court, as is sure to happen, will he or she get a fair hearing from a man who ranted and raved about political enemies in front of the Senate, while the NRA spent over a million dollars to support him?” Brown and Gardner said.

So Ruth Bader Ginsburg is the model of impartiality?

What’s hilarious here is that they’re calling Kavanaugh an “extremist” when it comes to the Second Amendment when all he wants to do is keep the status quo.

Kavanaugh is all about precedent. He believes in following where past courts have led. As such, it’s unlikely that he’ll vote to overturn the National Firearms Act or any other law the Court previously upheld. Not without something odd having changed along the way.

But he’s an extremist?

Seriously?

What we’ve had in this country for decades is the extreme position? It’s almost like they don’t understand what extremism is.

No, wait. It’s exactly like that.

Extremism is trying to overturn the Constitution of the United States, ignoring the plain text of the Second Amendment, while arguing that even the Founders’ intention–creating a citizenry that could repel invasion–is irrelevant, all without altering the Constitution in the least. Extremism is screaming at people and threatening them because they own guns. Extremism is trying to destroy people’s lives because they disagree with you.

Justice Kavanaugh is hardly an extremist.

But hey, considering all the other nonsense that’s been spread about him with absolutely no evidence, calling him an extremist is probably not that big of a deal. I know I’d rather be called an extremist than a serial rapist, for example, even though there’s no evidence to support either accusation.

Then again, since when do anti-gunners believe in evidence?

Who we are

We are a community of concerned patriots who are not overly confident in the current direction of our society, from the wild political climate to what can be summed up as a lack of morals or a complete void of integrity and pretty much a blatant disregard of respect..... Respect for our past, respect for our future and respect for each other. In order to protect our constitution and life as we know it, we decided to not be the silent majority anymore and pull our selves up by the bootstraps and make the world a better place. This website is to unite people like us, people who want to make a difference ... and do it the right way, Little did we know that in doing so we would create the number one militia community online. Here we are. Enjoy.
