training in the country some times means building hallways and rooms but the township or HOA do NOT always approve... throughout this summer ive seen alot of people training to shoot paper from a comfortable position with a resting heart rate...i really dont know how thats considered training or ftx...so i came up with a fun idea for militias and there familys to do together...armor and safety up for air-soft and try different situations in the house, barn, property...after getting this far typing i really dont feel comfortable telling exactly what i did online but im sure you get the picture...anyone have any other ideas to help further this conversation..id really like to hear them because short of building a city in my back yard  im kinda limited and so's most everybody...

This conversation actually came up in our patriot group a couple weeks ago. A person is buying a piece of rural property to build a formal airsoft training range on. It will be an urban setting with houses, gas station, and whatever else suits his fancy. This formal training range will be a full-time occupation for him, and the main clients will be police officers and militia groups.

My opinion is that this is a very worthwhile endeavor!!  The facts are that when the balloon goes up, there will be little if anything we can do to stop the "occupation" of our cities and towns.  The "others" will have the armor, air support and heavy weapons, to go where and do as, they like.  I might suggest some reading on the French Resistance during WWII, as well as books on guerilla warfare for some ideas, if and when the time comes.  Keeping tabs on the "others" and tagging them when they are most vulnerable will be the best tactics.  To that end, I believe city-type training will be much more beneficial than squad field tactics.  The militia will nearly always be the "lesser force" and as such, needs to use every advantage available.  In a stand-up firefight the militia will almost certainly lose every time... unless maybe it comes up against some Italian troops.

 

As far as actually "constructing" a simulated area... maybe hanging cloth fabric from  "clothesline"  cord in whatever maze-type design (stones or cans of soup could hold the bottom edge secure), would be pretty easy to set up and very temporary; plus the fact you could re-arrange it however you choose.  A little more effort and cost will give you "stagecraft sets": light wood frames with cloth stretched across and stapled in place.  You can assemble the panels as desired and brace them from behind.

that's great,,,right now im using mobile walls I think mixing that with your idea could be a problem solver for me...thanks bro...we just don't have the numbers for a standing firefight,., a book I wanna suggest to any of you is The Accidental Guerrilla...

You're absolutely right with that...urban ops is just as important as any kind of training for militia groups.  A lot of the fracas is probably going to take place in and around metro areas.  Knowing how to use that to an advantage, is helpfulnot a bad idea.  Militia groups are usually smaller, and they should'nt get involved in a prolonged firefight.  Large sections of plywood are what I use to simulate walls and barricades-gotta brace 'em on the back, though.  Just a thought.  Who is the author of The Accidental Guerilla?    Max
