White House approves use of force, some law enforcement roles for border troops

The White House late Tuesday signed a memo allowing troops stationed at the border to engage in some law enforcement roles and use lethal force, if necessary — a move that legal experts have cautioned may run afoul of the Posse Comitatus Act.

 

The new “Cabinet order” was signed by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, not President Donald Trump. It allows “Department of Defense military personnel” to “perform those military protective activities that the Secretary of Defensedetermines are reasonably necessary” to protect border agents, including “a show or use of force (including lethal force, where necessary), crowd control, temporary detention. and cursory search.”

The President can ask for emergency use of Guard forces in appropriate roles within their states.

 

Federal armed forces may be used in defense of the country and our borders by invaders (non citizens)  That is the primary role of our Military.

 

Either they go through ports of entry and make legal asylum application process or they are kept out completely.

The Federal Judge on the 9th Circuit stayed Trumps order on that, they do NOT have to go through a Port of Entry. ?

 

What did we expect! President Trump has no choice but the Democrats will use this against him. Soros planned this all along, storm the Wall and use the stupid, desperate peasants as fodder, collateral damage for the larger goal of taking down Trump and destroying America. And the liberal Left is neck deep in complicity. 

 

Our troops are stationed all over the world protecting the borders of other countries, yet they are not allowed to protect their own. Gen Mattis stated they will not be using firearms, only sticks and shields. 

 

There are criminals and gang members in that caravan... and you can bet they do have firearms!

When they swamp the "fence" collect them all, truck them deep into the desert to refugee camps, and let them sit until we're ready to deal with them.  While in camp, you can  ID them (fingerprints, DNA, microchip etc.) and keep tabs on them.  Deport those who don't meet the standards.  For those with criminal records, gang members or re-offenders: try them and sentence them to 5 years hard labor.  Any disturbances inside the camp will be dealt with harshly.  They muscle their way into this country, then their asses belong to us.  If it were up to me, they'd be screaming for the Honduran or Ecuadoran embassy to come save their dumb selves.

The flip side of policy setting on troop deployments and immigration might be scary. What will happen when a future administration decides to use troops to protect the immigrants from harm (landowners, militia groups, etc) and escort them in?

The President solely has the power to define a force as an invasion or not. Once the force is called an "invasion", then troops can be deployed and action can be taken by citizens/militia. There was a really good thread on this a month ago.

As far as what happens...that will be a line to determine and then cross at that time. What if a future President calls this a "humanitarian crisis" and elects to use UN troops instead, or a state calls out the National Guard to assist in the "humanitarian effort"? Both of these are interesting points to consider.

We can’t be afraid to protect our borders because of what a future president might do. We must teach our children and grand children what is precious about America and then try to vote in the right people. If there are no “right” people then run yourself.

I absolutely agree to protecting our borders and having timely management of immigration. Our elected representatives really have not properly managed immigration the last 40 years, and there are a bunch of personal/states rights that factor in here which have intentionally been spun in this tangled web by politicians. Your phrase "We can’t be afraid to protect our borders" must be taken with balance, as this statement is how we ended up with the Patriot Act in 2001. The "protect people at all costs (by the government)" has turned into a monstrous violator of personal and states rights. My thoughts come across as more of the part of devils advocate when talking about federal actions being taken in state/personal property.

Should that time come, we will have already ceased to exist as a sovereign nation.  When tens of thousands of aliens flood our borders, regardless of the circumstances, that can only be seen as an emergency situation.  If the President should call it anything else, in cooperation with the New World Order or otherwise, it will make no difference: we will be lost.

I agree with a measured response and states rights but immigration falls under the federal authority and not state authority. 

 

However the Congress has allowed the situation to manifest by not doing their job because of Special Interest / lobbying. 

 

Now that Hillary lost and we have a President intent on protecting America’s sovereignty and enforcing our borders, the immigration issue is being used. 

 

The UN has decided what every country should do in regards to immigration & refugees. 

 

We hold that we are sovereign & do not abide by positions, orders, rules or treatise made invalid when in conflict with our Constitution. 

 

Globalist do not respect or intend to honor our Constitution (otherwise called Deep State operatives within our govt including elected officials) and so, President Trump is revealing them to all to see, showing who is who by forcing them to speak out. 

 

I do not believe our Constitution is lost but I do believe we are at war... in a war... not of guns & weapons, but being fought between the Deep State / Globalist and American Patriots within the governmental system.

 

I am hoping, since Nikki Haley  (UN Ambassador) announced she would be leaving at the end of 2018, this means POTUS is going to pull us out of the UN altogether. 

 

In the mean time, I expect to see violence along the border forcing our troops to respond.

I fully support having U.S. troops on the border.  It's about time they did something about that mess.  Only hope it does not turn out to be another dog and pony show that ends up accomplishing nothing. 

 

If aliens disrespect U.S. laws enough to come into the country illegally, then what makes you think that they'll respect U.S. laws once they're here?  Round 'em up, vet them, then send those with criminal records back.  Sounds easy, but I'm afraid that it sounds a lot simpler than it really is.  This particular problem has been going on for so long,  and it's gotten so far out of hand, I'm not sure anyone knows how to resolve it, but someone has got to start somewhere.    Just a thought.      Max.

Even while we have troops and larger numbers of Border Patrol massed at certain ports, the invasion has been smart enough to side step and use unprotected areas.  This has led to Oath Keepers to create 2 operations, Operation Linebacker and Operation Eagle Eyes.  Both are open to all who wish to participate, but you will be vetted.  I’m sure some of you already know this.  We also are being used to protect personal property of land owners on the border.  If you wish to volunteer, I can give you an email address.  The border problem needs to be taken to the next level by President Trump and I seriously think he has been thinking about it.

I think we need to hault all immigration until we fix all of our own problems.  To allow more people in that don’t have skills and care nothing for American values, language, history, etc... should not be here anyway!
