H.R.38 UPDATE: Last Chance for National Reciprocity

Recommended Posts

Not quite the gung ho response I was hoping for but positive.  Still haven't heard from the lame duck Democratic senator Donnelly yet and not surprised....

Dear Mr. (LetFreedomRing), 😉

Thank you for contacting me regarding 2nd Amendment reciprocity rights.  I appreciate hearing from you about this important issue.

On February 27, 2017, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) introduced S. 446, the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. This legislation would allow an individual who is able to lawfully possess a firearm, and has a valid concealed carry firearm permit, to possess a concealed firearm in other states. Individuals would be required to carry a valid government-issued identification and the corresponding permit. However, this legislation would not permit the carrying of concealed firearms in states that prohibit concealed possession. Currently, S. 446 awaits consideration by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The 2nd Amendment right of Americans to bear arms has routinely been upheld by the Supreme Court. Existing state regulations prevent properly licensed individuals from carrying firearms in other states. While Indiana recognizes permits from 48 other states, only 29 states currently recognize Indiana’s concealed-carry permits. This complicates Hoosiers’ ability to lawfully carry firearms in other states as they travel for work and leisure.

Please be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind should S. 446 or related legislation come before the Senate for consideration.

Again, thank you for contacting me.  It is an honor to represent you in the United States Senate.

Todd Young
United States Senator

Who we are

We are a community of concerned patriots who are not overly confident in the current direction of our society, from the wild political climate to what can be summed up as a lack of morals or a complete void of integrity and pretty much a blatant disregard of respect..... Respect for our past, respect for our future and respect for each other. In order to protect our constitution and life as we know it, we decided to not be the silent majority anymore and pull our selves up by the bootstraps and make the world a better place. This website is to unite people like us, people who want to make a difference ... and do it the right way, Little did we know that in doing so we would create the number one militia community online. Here we are. Enjoy.
