thats why I keep my personal identity private

 

sadly I cant stand this guy and his videos, he just rants on and on, hardly ever hits the mark

 

if they do show up they will kill you for what you have, self survival takes precedent

Good thought

 

First thing that came to mind;

  1. separate the group and send the lacking to a fall back point.
  2. recon supply
  3. devise a sound approach
  4. have a good old fashion redman raid
  5. supply the group as a whole and change tactics

its simple. My other half has a ton of black purses. One for you, one for you, two for you. You have pockets, whatever you need immediately goes in them, the rest sits in your purse. No rifle? No problem, you're now on rear D until we get supplies in to arm you and possibly further enhance your load bearing equipment.

 

Few and far between will be the scenario you'll need to fully equip a full Company of recruits simultaneously and instantly. Keep it simple, stupid. Start with what they have on them, use alternatives to issue gear, and work to resupply in the field. How do you think guerrilla fighters the world over have done so over the past 100 years? 

 

The more immediate needs come first. Can you House, Water, and Feed a company's worth of recruits? I know how to handle it in my AO, but each of us have different circumstances, and I can't/won't try to answer it for you.

People show up... I don't know what to do?!

 

My first three questions:

1.  What can you do?  Skills, trade/vocation, etc. Not everyone needs to lug a rifle - not everyone needs to be on the walls or in the trenches.  

2.  What do you have?  Welding equipment, tools, etc.?  Is it possible to retrieve those items given that they haven't been looted yet?

3.  If you can do nothing and have nothing... what can we do to help you become an asset to the unit? Food, water, shelter are primary needs - can you help procure these items?

 

The thing is that in these situations militia's must become more than run and gun groups.  People need to be trained in medical care, repair, construction, etc.  Knowledge has to be passed on in order to rebuild and maintain some standard of living. Heck someone has to dig latrines if you have a large group surviving in an area.  Elderly, infirm, and those with debilitating medical conditions can still be an asset, even if it means helping to teach the youth in the group or provide help in the kitchen.  In SHTF, the reality is that most people are naturally inclined to restore order... at least as far as they can given the circumstances.  Not all people are interested in roving around and burning the world down.  Even though I acknowledge as a theologian that people are sinfully inclined in many ways (greedy, selfish, lustful, and covetous)... for the most part, people don't like chaos and suffering.  There is a reason that even in a 'sinful world' as we would talk about in Christian circles that societies still form and have some form of rule of law.  People are hardwired to want order and safety.  This is best accomplished in orderly societies.  SHTF always leads to rebuilding.

As a construction foreman, I was in this same position, the 'office would hire anybody'.

So it was up to me to asess what they could do.Some people are not to articulate,  Sometime I would turn them loose and watch. I would let THEM learn from the more experienced crew.
