What Email Service Do You Use, Does It Require Your Phone Number?

I'm curious what free email service people are using out there and if it requires you to give any verifiable personal information to use it?  It used to be you could use Gmail and Yahoo mail anonymously but now both of them require a verifiable mobile number to use it?  I'm looking for a new good free email service that does not require a phone number or any other verifiable personal information to have an account.  In other words a free email service that can be completely anonymous of my personal information.  This is becoming a serious issue with big tech tracking our every move and keeping us from being able to be anonymous.

 A good idea.  A burner phone could come in handy in other ways some day too!
