“Free Fishing” Weekend is a slap in the face?

Recommended Posts

So in OHIO you are suppose to have a fishing license to fish, and this weekend is free fishing weekend

Is having to pay to fish a violation of our constitutional rights?

people argue the money is used for conservation.

what are your thoughts?

Im kinda on the fence about this.   But years ago livin at home, mom and I were on food assistance. I went fishing to get some dinner, got a ticket. So I feel if in a assistane program you should need no license.

I agree, very low income should qualify for free fishing or hunting licenses if they need to supplement their food.  This way it is still a part of the conservation management programs of the states.

I agree!  I actually think that children shouldn’t have to pay to get a license.  We have less and less children who understand where food comes from!

I think the government is involved in our lives way to much.  I know that the ones of us that believe in hunting to eat aren’t the ones that cause the problems.  The people that kill animals for profit or those that kill just to kill ruin it for everyone else.

I'm not sure but I think in Indiana kids 12 and under don't have to have a license.

It is 16 or older you need a fishing license in atleast in Indiana..

And with the food assistance thing, there are ways to get free food besides food stamps..
