Something some may not be aware of, for securing your door, even against lock picks:
They make a chain for the door, but in order to get in, you have to reach inside, put a key into a tumbler, turn it, and that end of the chain drops down.
When you leave, you just slide the attachment up into the tumbler fixture until it clicks into place.
When home, you can use it like a regular chain, as the other end just has the round piece on it.
You can also screw a piece of metal, a shield, between the tumbler and the door jam, so you have to reach thru the door and over that shield, which shouled keep even good lock picks from gaining access. Maybe a shield above and below, with just enough space to get your hand in to unlock it would keep even those jiggler devices from working.
Walmart, and I'm sure other stores, sell them, for around 12 bucks.
