Asymmetrical Warfare and 4GW: How Militia Groups are America’s Domestic Viet Cong

“It is interesting to hear certain kinds of people insist that the citizen cannot fight the government. This would have been news to the men of Lexington and Concord, as well as the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan. The citizen most certainly can fight the government, and usually wins when he tries. Organized national armies are useful primarily for fighting against other organized national armies. When they try to fight against the people, they find themselves at a very serious disadvantage. If you will just look around at the state of the world today, you will see that the guerilla has the upper hand. Irregulars usually defeat regulars, providing they have the will. Such fighting is horrible to contemplate, but will continue to dominate brute strength.”

I agree.  A lightly-armed, hard-to-find enemy is the most dangerous to any military force.  One difference:  we don't use the same recruiting tactics the Cong used!

Start now identifying those who support the Constitution, love freedom and will stand with you (as well as those who won't).  They don't all have to bear arms, but they will become your base of support and primary source of intelligence when it all goes south.  We are all soldiers in the cause of liberty and the preservation of our Republic.

I like the idea the Michigan Militia puts out of having a unit 5-10 Program.  Each member after equipping themselves is suppose to gather enough gear, weapons, and some supplies for an additional 5-10 people who would be lacking those items.  The stuff for that program is basic stuff or what the member can afford.  Forget a Molle vest, an LBE set will work.  You don't need the fanciest AR with the best optics, a cheap 12 ga. or .30-06 bolt action bought at an auction would work.  MREs?  Here are some freeze dried pouches and some ramen noodles.  In order for it to work though your unit does need to have a basic list of recommended gear, weapons, and supplies.  So that way you know what to get for yourself and get extra when you have some spare cash.

My brigade leader in the group I am in deals in military surplus, mostly to keep a stockpile of basic gear like LBE, canteens, ruck sacks..... to help new members just starting out and for when the ranks swell, and there will come a time when they do swell.
