So what is the boundary of "Capital Grounds"? Can you still get close enough to hear the speakers, etc., if you remain off of these "Grounds"?

I think it might be considered the entire capitol square:

They will probably have the area cordoned off.

I believe something even bigger than individual gun control is coming.  I think they are going to go after the militias as such. Because ... suppose they ban 'assault weapons', and all magazines

Gun control is really about people control and that is what it is all about.  The elite and those that believe they are also part of the elite (because most of them are really unknowing dupes and tool

It seems crazy to me that people are willing to accept this. It is a second ammendment rally, and we are willing to be disarmed. Lunacy! How do you think the rest of the country will view this? How do you think it will be portrayed in the news.

How would we defend ourselves in the event of a false flag. The pathetic political puppets pass this law knowing we the people are coming to protest. Also note that they "are" allowed carry, but not us. This hypocrisy must not stand. We must stand our ground.  The only power they have is what we allow.

It's all a matter of timing and judgement.  If we had overwhelming support, then simply peacefully defying the law would be right. The Law Enforcement people, most of whom, at the rank and file level, probably sympathyze with us, would feel the weight of public opinion, and would just stand by and watch.  I don't think we're there yet. Patriots are too willing to assume that because the people around them agree with them, then everyone must agree with them, except for a few isolated Hollywood luvvies and college kids.  Unfortunately, that's not true. There is a broad middle of  America, ordinary people, maybe misled by the MSM, whom we must win over, even if it means just to a position of benign neutrality.  A huge peaceful demonstration will help do this.  A shoot out will do the opposite.

In any case we ought to follow the advice of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, who are organizing this.

I don't know.  But ... think of this as going on board an airplane.  Yes, it would be better to be armed, but you can't be.  You fly anyway.  Same thing here.  One small sacrifice to make this demonstration a huge success.  It's just a question of tactics -- sometimes you have to go down the middle with everything you've got, as Lee did on the 3rd day at Gettysburg.  (At least, that was his judgement... he should have listened to Longstreet and sent some divisions around to the Union rear. Or so some people say.)  But sometimes you've got to maneuver ...even make a strategic retreat and fight another day ... or draw the enemy into a trap.  Too many people think that their first emotional response is all the tactical judgement they need. Not so.

I listened to Governor Blackface announcing this ban ... I think he was telling the truth: there are hundreds of crazies and government plants who are paid to sound crazy, saying  "Let's bring our guns and arrest and hang these traitors"..  Utter fools. Some of them invoke pseudo-legal arguments using big words from the law books to give a 'legal' gloss to their insane proposals: just like the Posse Comitatus did in the 70s and 80s, when they convinced various farmers    not to pay taxes or to pay off liens with fake certificates. This only served to get people's farms foreclosed on, and in one case, to get a farmer dead.

Bottom line: We should do what the organizers of the demonstration say to do.   No long arms, and if you want to be part of the demonstration inside the park, you can't be carrying, unless you know how to fool a metal detector.

i honestly think EVERYONE should open carry ar15s and aks like security guy said. Compliance is consent in their eyes. The only way to show them we mean business is to completely disregard their rules they put for us. We have played by their rules for decades, how far has it got us? Basically nowhere.

Friend, I edited your post.  I'm not trying to step on your toes or infringe on your right to speech, so I apologize if you're offended at my cleaning up your post.  But, there are likely eyes on this forum right now given the circumstances taking place.  I don't want anyone getting into hot water.  Emotions are running hot right now.  You're correct in your assessment that the enemies of the people don't care about what we have to say and won't change their actions.

I watched the video from SecurityGuy42.  And in many ways I am sympathetic to what he has said.  I do think it would be appropriate for people to gear up.  I won't tell people not to do so.  I agree that the plain clothes whining events that have been going on for years hasn't gained us any ground back, and often is ignored by the tyrants who continue to take regardless of the voices of the people - and the Constitution.  That being said... I also believe those individuals gearing up need to leave space for those citizens of VA who do not want to gear up and want to air their grievances at the Capitol.  There is room for both groups.  The plain clothes crowd should be closest to the center as they will be acting as the physical voices at the event.

While there has been a great deal of discussion here and elsewhere on the net about this upcoming event on the 20th... has anyone put anything up regarding engagement with the media presence that is likely to be in full swarm?

Not that we want to be like Antifa where we just shout obnoxious things at reporters or interfere with their work.  Thought I'd toss a quick reminder to folks attending:  Anything you say can and will be used against you by the media.  Have your stats and points planned in advance just in case you feel like taking the risk of engaging with the media.

Been expecting something like this especially since they started putting the fencing up.  This is the kind of crap they keep on standby outside of Bilderberg conferences in case they have to crush the crowds to protect the elite overlords.

Rifleman,

Good job looking out for the young, whose tongue lacks experience and discipline. I assume this is why the the server was down.

Although I have zero plans to engage the media, I am currently working on the printout of every VA bill, highlighting the issues and offering supporting facts surrounding the subject.

You should contact me directly so we can chat before the rally.

On a personal note. This mobile site is extremely infuriating. I am constantly blasted back to the top of the post. Which translates into about 35+ times I have to scroll down for each minuscule posting. If you cannot fix this give me admin privileges and I will fix it myself.

I am sorry that was frustration talking. Typing this took me 15 minutes.

Nope your good. I was kind of in a mood when I wrote it, thank you for cleaning it more than I did. I agree that the local Virginians need to be in charge and at the front, it just annoys me that people say "NO ONE" should open carry. I don't like the mentality that we MUST play by their rules, 100% of the time, even when we shoot ourselves in the foot by doing so. But, anyway, no I will never be offended by someone cleaning up my post or correcting me when I'm wrong, as long as it is not done with malicious intent. Thank you friend, and stay safe.

The Rook is made out of metal, right? Does anyone here know what KIND of metal?? If ANYTHING, ACID can defeat metal, right? I'm not big on science, but maybe that thing's weakness is in what it is MADE out of. ?? And as for bullet-proof glass goes: Isn't riot shields and riot masks bullet-proof??

They weigh quite a bit, but, anything can be tipped with enough force applied. Probably standard aluminum and steel construction... but it has steel armor.  The company that assembles these indicated they have Level IV armor on the platform... doesn't specify what that composition is to get that rating.  Not sure about the rest of the vehicle armor rating.  But, shy of a .50 BMG or some high velocity .30 cal type rounds...not much is going to penetrate that level IV armor.

As for the glass... hard to say how many hits it could take before failing, but, it gets hard to see out of after a few hits.  They do have camera's on the vehicle so the driver can see using those if the glass is compromised.

Riot Shields vary in rating.  Riot helmets/masks are mostly to protect against flying debris and not ammunition - the helmet might be IIIa rated for pistol/revolver but that's about it.

Weak spot might be the rubber track system.  Take out the tracks... it doesn't move anymore.

The armored vehicles with tires are tougher as they have a rubber ring under the tire (run-flat).  Only way to immobilize those is to have something that can penetrate the armor or knock out the motor/drivetrain.  Punch out the radiator and they just like any other vehicle will overheat.  Have to know where that is located before you can punch a few holes in it tho.

Acid wouldn't be of much use - you'd also have to get uncomfortably close.  Thermite would be a better option if you survived long enough to get that close.

A rook? They do realise that this is a peaceful protest and that we are not hooligans flinging rocks, right? If this is truly onsite, I find it very disconcerting and a bit insulting. The implication is there will be a riot or serious conflict. I also find it foolish on their part, as the rook is only functional for a direct assult on the unsuspecting and untrained. If it were me, I would not deploy the rook unless I were defending the main building and had high ground, which the main building does. But that would put it directly behind the speakers. What a site that would be. They seem to be bringing all the heat and smoke, waiting to blame the fire.

I really hope they don't fuck this up and create a bunch of extremists.

A note I just recieved from Eventbrite, the people managing the buses:

"Buses will be parked in an area north of Broad Street, and will remain in that location until they are re-boarded for the trip home. It will be a short walk down the hill to the Capitol Square, about 4 to 6 blocks. RPD officers will guide you across Broad Street and will stop traffic as necessary for pedestrian crossing."
