Hi my name is Teresa I live in Anchorage and am interested in meeting like minded individuals interested in personal and public safety.

If I may ask, Mam? What's it like there? The weather? Snow always? Or do you cut the grass more than we do here in West Virginia? Is Anchorage 2nd Amendment friendly?

I've heard about Anchorage all my life and never met anyone from there.

Hi Teresa, and welcome to the site.  How did you find it?

I visited Anchorage a few years ago -- my wife and I took the Ferry from Washington State up the Canadian coast -- a great way to travel -- and then got the train to Fairbanks, to see the Aurora.  It refused to appear. Never mind, it was a wonderful trip.

We stayed with a couple who live on a little island off the coast of Kodiak Island, and who are largely self-sufficient -- they have a fishing license, and also sell eggs in Kodiak. I was amazed at the size of their garden ... we associate Alaska with darkness, but actually, those long days give your plants a lot of sunlight. That stuffed Kodiak bear in the airport at Kodiak is VERY impressive -- makes you a Believer.

I think Alaska will be part of whatever remains of the real America after the Progressives destroy the original one.

You make Anchorage sound pretty attractive, Doug.

Well, I have to say I liked Alaska.

And I'm a Texan!  I can tell you we were pretty mad when Alaska joined the Union in ... 1959??? because until then, we were the largest state. And suddenly we were number two!  We used to tell each other then, "Just wait until all the ice melts, we'll be number One again," but from my trip there, I can say that it won't help much.  I saw a really nifty glacier ... and we caught a 110 pound halibut with our friends.

Now if this Global Warming thing continues, Alaska is going to become a really desirable place to live. I would advise them to exert strict immigration control though -- if some states can ignore it to let people in , why can't others ignore it to keep people out? -- and don't allow themselves to be Californicated, as Texas is being.
