Hello everyone.

I am a young college student in Michigan and have recently discovered this site and decided to sign up. Hoping to meet new people and learn new things. Hope to get to know you all soon. :)

Hello, Rakis, and welcome.  What are you majoring in?  And can I ask how you found our site?

There are some other young people here, and we hope to get a lot more.  Your advice on how to do this could be very useful.

You'll want to talk to YoungPatriot, who's working on a history of the militia movement.

You can get a lot further in life with a kind word and a gun, than with a kind word alone.

Hi Doug, I am a student at the University of Michigan - Flint and going to major in administration (or at least that's what I am thinking right now!) I found this site through some searching about militias in Michigan and some surfing the web. I am new to militias in general and hope to soon be involved a lot more.

I will for sure talk to YoungPatriot and introduce myself. Thank you for the welcome!

You're in an interesting state for militias ... as you'll no doubt find out. The militia has a 'history' in Michigan.  Start by reading the Wiki article, which seems pretty fair[  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_Militia  ]. You need to know this stuff (and more) because you're going to run into Lefties who 'know' that the militia is a bunch of crazy rightwing paranoid white supremacists etc etc etc ... of course they say  that of everyone who doesn't buy into their total insane agenda, but they really believe it with respect to the militia.

Mastering the art and science of administering groups is a vital skill for patriots -- just as important -- for at least a minority of us -- as being able to clear a stoppage is for everyone who has a rifle. You might find yourself writing a very interesting Senior Thesis  -- or even an MA or MSc -- on 'Administrative problems in the American Militia Movement', with insider knowledge, because there certainly have been and will be some problems, and it would be worth a LOT to have some people who could help us avoid them in the future.  You get strong personalities in this movement,  and sometimes one flank turns and fires on the other.

Finally ... give these people a thought, if you haven't already: http://www.army.rotc.umich.edu/

I will look more into ROTC for sure. I have heard a fair bit about the Michigan Militia and know what you mean by lefties talking like they know everything about it and others like them. At my campus, I have a class on government, and I see a lot of lefties in there talking like they know everything about guns and militias when the topic arises, but if you question them on anything they freeze up!

A senior thesis on a topic about militias would be interesting and now is something I need to heavily consider. It's still a while away but I will look into it more. Thanks for this!
