If COVID-19 sticks around for a while maybe it will snap people out of this false sense of entitlement culture we live in, put your phones down and talk to one another, hold respectful interactions.. a real gut check into what is important, a snap away from our lemmings like existence on earth. a breath of fresh air amid the chaos.

Law-abiding American citizens who are participating in legal activities shall never be fearful of government reprisal.

There will definitely be pros to this experience in addition to the cons.  There has certainly been another uptick in new members on here since this has begun.

If the enemy takes control of the White House, next January,  from Nov. to Jan ... and beyond ... I wouldn't be surprised to see 20,000 new members added to our list (possibly more).  Some of the new members will have absolutely no military experience, whatsoever.  Many will simply be frightened of the future.  Those of us who have that experience will have to pass it on, quickly.  Note that I don't want to see war in our cities, towns, forests, deserts, and mountains.  I've see enough death to "last me a lifetime".  But those who join us must become prepared, mentally and physically, and in military skills, for the worst.

This is EXACTLY the right way to think!!!

We can argue with people until the cows come home. We can write letters to the editor, set up tables at shopping malls and explain what we are about, we can go to town meetings and let our existence be known.  If we do all these things right, we can grow a unit from ten to fifteen, or from twenty to thirty.  We can start new units of five or six people in new places.  All vital work.

But ....

What really changes consciousness is EVENTS.

Before 7 December 1941, the American people watched the war in Europe, the victory of the Nazi armies, Britain standing alone ... then the Nazi invasion of the USSR in June of '41 ... and the brutal Japanese conquest of China ... and wanted nothing to do with it. Why should they die for the King of England, or the French empire, or the Russian commies?  The government did its best to prepare, but ... it had to be cast as defensive only, even though FDR knew that we had to go to war eventually, or we'd end up in a world dominated by Germany and Japan.

But the American people slept.  You can't blame them. What did we get out of WWI, other than 50 000 dead 'doughboys'?

And then... Pearl Harbor.   And within one minute -- literally, a few seconds -- kind, peaceful, sleepy America ..... became white hot with anger.  A three minute radio report that we had been attacked at Pearl Harbor totally transformed our nation.

Before then, no one wanted to serve in the Armed Forces.  Except for a few Southerners who chose it as their profession, it was almost seen as shameful.

Pearl Harbor was on a Sunday.  On Monday, the lines at the Army and Marine recruiting centers stretched around the block and doubled back on themselves. Fifteen million Americans transformed themselves from farmers and salesmen and shop assistants and assembly-line workers and college boys into warriors.

And then Hitler -- thank God -- declared war on the US!!!! The Americans had wanted to get revenge on the Japanese.  The American people still didn't care about Europe -- they weren't strategic thinkers, they just wanted revenge.  Hitler didn't have to do what he did. His treaty with Japan did not dictate that he had to. He had no Navy to speak of. His air force couldn't reach us. He had no allies on our side of the Atlantic nor any prospect of them. He had no rational reason to go to war with us, just the opposite.  But this evil man's brain, normally so shrewd, must have shorted out -- Roosevelt had deliberately been goading him and attacking him personally --  and he did us, and humanity,  the most enormous favor.  We just said ... "War with you, too? Okay. You'll be sorreeeeeee... but okay. Just give us a little while to get our stuff together and we'll pay you a visit."

A year before the war, Roosevelt said we needed to build 50 000 airplanes. People laughed. By the last year of the war, we were building 100 000 airplanes per year

Events. That's what transforms mass consciousness.  We've got to be ready to take advantage of them.

You can get a lot further in life with a kind word and a gun, than with a kind word alone.
