     I've read Tony Mendez's book 'Master of Disguise', relating his experience with the CIA. From what I know, it is an excellent account not only of protocols and events of historical significance, but portrays a Patriotic side of the 'Agency'.

     Unfortunately there is a dark side to the CIA, exemplified in the activities of many of their contemporaries, subsidiaries, accomplices and subjugees.

     Whether any of these other books provide account of dastardly deeds or not, they can be a valuable resource for combatting unconstitutional tactics and methodology.

     Written works which expound on proper standards, technique, etiquette and means, can be compared to any given, current situation in order to detect corruption. This specific venue, of course, requires either direct investigating, usually quite covert, or first or second hand briefings from those on both sides who have been involved in the mix:
