MURS is Part 95 not Part 90 and was not affected by the narrowbanding rule making, however 4 of the MURS channels are narrowbanded, while 2 that came from Part 90 are not.

Yessir, so guess which channels I'm using for DMR.

Let me jump in and be the wet blanket here. First, getting your ham ticket does nothing for the other members of the group on ham frequencies. Each person must have their license to operate on the ham

That's kinda like me, I'll bring the comms and the fixit ability, I'm getting too old to slug a rifle around all day long.   But I'd be damn happy to fix it for ya!   As for sendin

Yeah, it would have been a good thing, but the guy wasn't legit.

Was this guy on here a while back and was setting something up and then got banned or something?

It is frustrating to have non legit people give bogus info. Just like it is frustrating to get recruiting with people who talk a big game but don't want to act. That's okay. This country needs saving and I will do everything humanly possible to stop evil.

I'm not sure if what he was doing was RF related or trying to setup another website like this one, why I'm not too sure.

there is a good nationwide group of hams that are patriots. Alot of them are ex military but its not required. AmRRON The American Radio Relay Operators Network. They have the free version and a 40 dollar a year version. The 40 dollar a year version gives you more info and is for the more active hams who are willing to transmit info and pass traffic. Its a really good group of patriots. Im sure some are probably in militias like myself.

That is correct, the reason I call it a split is the FCC narrowbanding rules have split the old standard 25 into 12.5 and soon it will be 6.25, allowing for more channels per band.

Hams are not yet effected by that ruling, but would be wise to keep up with it though I doubt they will, when it comes to communications they are a strange group of people.

Depending how you program you code plug determines which half you transmit on. I have made the mistake for being on the wrong side.

Trickshot was ban hammered for being abuse towards members both on the site and via email. An no, he was nowhere near legit.

What I am thinking of would be commercial not Ham radio.

I think the guy was emailing me, not in a nasty way, but asking questions without really getting to the point of what he really wanted to do. I'll answer a direct question, but I'm not getting involved in something shady.

Or consider this, longer range using low band around 33 MHz to 43 MHz.

Low band is pretty much abandoned nowadays but when I had a system on 35.1400 MHz I could literally cover 3 counties mobile to mobile, handhelds are out there but not too practical for LB due to antenna size restrictions. .

So you are just talking about using hf?

What I'm thinking is a good old-fashioned human relay system. We got guys that can run HF, and we've got people that need to run VHF or UHF.

We should come up with a system, ARRL style, that allows for message relay. Perhaps even using one time pads and the like.

MBR what frequencies would we use? Would someone need a commercial license to use them?

Frequency would depend on the band chosen, a commercial license would be required, but a single station license could cover all users in a state or more.
