Food Inflation Is Becoming Serious

The past 2 weeks my family groceries have cost me $100 more each week than normal and I have been buying basically the same groceries every week.

I saw this coming back in March so we stocked up, $460 worth of meat, I have two huge upright freezers and we packed them full, enough to get us buy for at least 6 months.

COVID-19 hit the packing houses hard, the people who work in those places work side by side and in very dry air that allows the virus to spread, when they shut down that only left a month or so in the distribution pipeline, the second whack was a lot of truckers who where already running on thin profits just stopped working, they where unwilling to deadhead loads and with so many business's shutting down they could not be assured their would a load to pull back toward home base.

And in some placers truckers where being harassed, a lot of truck stops shut down and law enforcement in areas like New York where threatening to tow truckers parking on streets to get the federally mandated rest they need to have.

So what was left of the supply chain went to crap.

Iv noticed a sharp increase in prices as well.  Availability  has also become an issue since the C19 crap hit the fan.

I think a lot of that is due the surge of gun buying by first time gun owners, many of whom seem to people who until recently where spending a lot of time and effort trying to convince us, we are nothing but gun nuts for wanting to be able to defend ourselves and our families.

They are waking up to the fact when seconds count, the police may not make it to the scene at all anymore, and if the police are disarmed, will not show up until the shooting is over and the bodies are cooled off and the bad guys are long gone.

This country is going down the shi**er fast and soon it will be every man and women for themselves, the thin blue line is going to become the long gone away line, and anarchy will prevail and if you are not armed, you shall become a victim.

And I believe this is why militias as some derivative there of consisting of like minded people will quietly step up and maintain order in some areas, more than likely rural areas where they will have the support of the local law, even if that support isn't spoken of it will just happen.

I also believe rural areas are next in line for problems are people flee from urban s-holes and head out to the sticks bringing with them a lot of the problems they are fleeing.

I'm a contractor and two supply stores are out of what I need to do my job. If the grocery stores end up like this there'll be big problems. Hope it's just accordion effect in supply chain. As for ammo and so on, I see that too. They can't keep up with demand.

I have not been in a gun store in years but based on what I am seeing being out of stock on line I can understand why, on-line dealers because of the volume they move are first in line for ammo as it comes out of the factory and if they cannot get any, gun stores have no chance of getting any at all.

I lack the knowledge to predict the future, but I do watch trends and early I saw a trend for the government to begin stockpiling ammo, and there was a shortage, once that subsided, I stocked up and I stocked up a lot, greenbacks and gold are nice to have, but they are useless if you cannot defend yourself, so I decided to shift some of my "investments" into less than precious metals. that being assembled lead, brass and powder and I am very glad I did.

One can have lots of money and gold, but if that person isn't armed, trained and stocked up, all they will end up with is some lead in the chest and no money or gold.

There will be another big food, ammo and guns run as the upcoming presidential election gets close.  It usually does anyway but with covid19 and all the domestic terrorism going on it's likely to be more of a panic run like recently.

I think there may be more than one wave of shortages, one on the run up to the election, and if Trump fails to get reelected, another huge run on guns and ammo before Biden gets sworn in and really starts doing damage to the Second.

Also keep in mind no matter how much ammo you have you will need a way to carry it around, so always have a ammo cadet with you to carry the ammo and cover your back. 😉

Ever since the 2016 election I’ve made it a habit to pick up a few boxs of various calibers everytime i went into a walmart or sporting goods store.  With the current shortage and rising prices I’m glad i did.  If sleepy joe manages to win in November you may very well need every rd you can get.

They may very well be the last rounds you could have bought.

Order online is the most reliable right now.

That's the only way to buy ammo, good prices and fast brown truck delivery.

I’ve been keeping an eye on a couple of websites I usually deal with. Right now neither one has what im looking for.  The local bass pro, walmart, and other gun stores here have little to no ammo at all.  Only rd im a little short on is the hornady 17 hmr 20 gr. XTP hp.  Prdered some from a place in California but it may take a week or so before it arrives.
