who will our military go with

We like to think the "true patriots" in the military will refuse to obey orders to impose tyranny on the masses, but that's likely not the case.  Not because they're traitors, or because they're evil, or anything of the sort.  Rather, it's basic human psychology to obey authority - even when the acts they are performing go against their morals.  Moreover, you've heard the adage that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, but few realize how horrifyingly true this statement is.

Much like the patriots who fought the British 250 years ago, I expect we could count on the support of perhaps 3-5% of active duty personnel - assuming that 3-5% is all currently stateside and not deployed, unable to play a role one way or the other.  This also assumes a scenario in which they are able to be mobilized on US soil, against US citizens.  Why do I put such bleak hope on their faith to the constitution they've been sworn to defend?  Again, basic human psychology.

"Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire."  - Robert A. Heinlein

Agreed; there won't be a lot of military who will truly honor their oath and protect the Constitution. Who will they go with? Whoever the generals tell them to, and that's one of two factions as I see it; the corporate masters who are party to the "military-industrial complex", or simply "the side that looks like it's going to win".

The third option is "whatever military group makes it a point to initiate a military coup". That could be a very real possibility if it looks like the whole country will otherwise swirl down the drain.

One way or another, I don't believe it will be Trump. His army is right here.

I agree, not good odds, but I can't see them obeying orders to furcefully vacfine people and heard them into "quarantine" re-education camps either...

Was up at Lejeune on Monday most every Marine I spoke with understands the seriousness of what is going on and support our efforts 100%. I believe that they will honor their oath and stand with us until the bitter end. They have to be careful of what say right now, but I have faith in my brothers to do the right thing Semper Fi.
