Sneak Peek: LWRCI’s Limited-Edition Spartan Kopis AR

Recommended Posts

The new Spartan Kopis from LWRC International is a truly compact, short-stroke-piston-operated AR, and only 300 will be produced. For this custom build, LWRCI combined its most popular and innovative IC-PDW lower receiver with the advanced IC-A5 upper receiver into a single powerhouse unit.

The operating system uses a two-position, self-regulating gas block, accessible via the scalloped SPR handguard, that allows the user to select between standard and suppressed use. The two-piece handguard has a top portion that can be easily removed with two thumbscrews, exposing the gas system for cleaning and maintenance.

The 14.7-inch, cold-hammer-forged barrel has a heavy profile with distinctive spiral fluting that reduces the barrel’s weight by 20 percent. The barrel comes with a pinned and welded SilencerCo Trifecta flash suppressor, a three-pronged device that is both effective and makes it easy to install SilencerCo sound suppressors.

All of the Spartan Kopis’ controls are fully ambidextrous. The two-position stock is extremely compact and uses an abbreviated buffer tube. The bolt barrier, buffer and spring are a single unit as well.

The LWRCI Spartan Kopis also has an exclusive tungsten grey Cerakote as well as distinct laser etching on the right side of the magazine well with a Spartan helmet over crossed kopis swords and surrounded by the outline of an AR bolt face. Underneath this logo are the words “molon labe” (“come and take them”), and the number of the rifle out of 300.
