Your favorite production survival rigs

All of us have our favorite brand of vehicles, but what would your favorite survival or bug out rig be?

 

I have abused the toyota and nissan small and midsized trucks a bunch, and know they could be capable of getting me off road and back with less maintenance than a full size rig. A close second was an old 1979 chevy Luv 4x4 with a gas motor and a 5spd trans. It was a no-pride-ride, but was extremely light and performed excellent off the pavement.

As far as over the road survival rigs, I had a 93 dodge W350 with the cummins diesel that reliably ran on 50/50 mix of motor/hydraulic oil and diesel fuel. Reminded me a lot of the old military duece-and-a-halfs that you could dump in 5 gallons of motor oil and then fill the rest of the tank of gasoline. Finding a source of diesel fuel after a large scale disaster may be a challenge, but there would be plenty of abandoned vehicles to get gasoline and motor oil from.

I have two Nissan Xterra's and a Ural Gear up. I actually prefer the Ural as a solo survival rig. Other than not providing shelter (it is a Russian Military 2WD motorcycle/sidecar) it will go places that the 4 wheeler's can't. Is new production but uses 1970's technology so in the shit repairs are for the most part simple, and it is easy to conceal and leaves a much smaller footprint than a typical off road vehicle would.
