Mashable Just Can’t Appreciate Good Taste

Recommended Posts

We reposted this gun on Instagram three weeks ago, but Mashable must have just caught wind of the awesomeness of this gun because they are fired up!

The gun, a Glock modified to replicate the NES Zapper gun used with the Nintendo game Duck Hunt, is a piece of nostalgia and a fun collectible gun.

In the article written by Adario Strange, Facebook comments on the post from Precision Syndicate LLC which featured the sweet gun seem at the be crux of his concern:

Someone went and created a real gun based on the fake gun used in
Duck Hunt

The result? A very cool looking but dangerous weapon sporting a bit of gaming nostalgia.

Responses to the post on Facebook have varied from people debating the sensibilities behind creating such a
, to those enthusiastically attempting to find out how to buy one.

“The fact that this exists is why cops don’t have the time to make the decision of its a toy or a gun,” said one commenter, while another said, “Worthless craps for making this! Not only would a child have a hard enough time telling the diff if it’s real or fake imagine all the law enforcements that now might second guess it and lose their life and others around!”

However, there appear to be far more commenters inquiring about how to obtain the gun, which is a modified Glock.

But don’t think Adario would let his article go without throwing in an old story to try to make his point at how dangerous the Duck Hunt Glock could be:

Nevertheless, the concerns from some on the Facebook post may be well placed. Just a year and a half ago, 12-year-old
was fatally shot by a police officer in Ohio after the officer claimed that he mistook the child’s toy gun for a real weapon.

I’m pretty sure if anyone buys this gun and their kid spray paints it black to go walking down the street with a la Rice, I’m guessing it’s not the police who are going to get them first.

Bottom line? This gun is sweet and Mashable is still ridiculous.
