    Good article.  I suppose it'd be safe to say that the majority of militia units have a need to function as guerilla fighters.  That does not mean they are subversive, only that they do what they have to.  After all, militia groups don't have an abundance of supplies...not like organized branches of the military.  The militias normally have limited amounts of ammo, weapons and equipment, personnel, clothing, food, medical and commo. equipment, etc..  So, they have to be able to move quickly, they have to be resourceful, and they need to remain undetected a lot of the time...sort of like a guerilla unit;  the organized opposing force is usually larger, has more supplies, and has an edge.  A militia force probably ought to operate like a 'guerilla force' out of necessity.  Just a thought.  Max
