Hi Soldier82, good to hear from you. Since joining this site, I found out about www.FLMilitia.org which seems to be fairly well-established (note: Pinellas County is in Region 3 Charlie).

I signed up to join their email list as a first step, but then I found out that they are primarily using Facebook to coordinate meetings and training sessions. Facebook is getting increasingly hostile to any militia organizing and has started banning such groups, so that seems like a dead end. (I also don't have a Facebook account myself.) They do send out monthly emails, and reportedly they have added about 100 people over this summer in the Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.

That said, I'm open to working with other interested people to organize our own thing in Pinellas County for others who aren't keen on Facebook as a platform. It seems this MyMilitia site would be a better alternative for general communication, and we could use other secure chat apps like Threema for event-specific communication.

This is a way to get everyone in the area into the same group and share information. 

We also have the "Patriot Network", which is an awesome way to get local chapters of the national group together.

That said, it seems you need to pay membership fees before you can do anything, and there is little information about what it's all about. What's the difference between this and just organizing a militia on here?

Absolutely, this is clear. We need to get organized into units and recruit more people. Many are looking for a way to meet others willing to defend our communities if things get worse.

I just joined this site yesterday. Glad to see others thinking the same way. We need to get organized now. Enough is enough and we need to be ready to defend our communities if things get worse.

Mustan9, yours seems to be the only militia in the Tampa Bay area. I joined it. We need to recruit more people.

Hi Nicole, I just saw this message now. I'm in Clearwater, so not exactly there but in the Tampa Bay area anyway. We need to get our local people into one group where it's easy to share info and coordinate. I just joined this site yesterday, but it seems we have a lot of organizing to do.
