ABOUT THIS MILITIA
Located in Camden, NC, The 1776 Militia is comprised of Veterans of the United States Military and their families. Our stated goal is to advance programs that promote love of country. Accordingly, our nationwide chapters stand ready to provide a wide range of complimentary patriotic programs and services in support of interested organizations that shall include, but not limited to: Churches, Schools, Civic Groups, Veteran Associations, Youth Groups, ROTC/JROTC Units, Etc. Above all things, we stand in firm and steadfast support General George Washington's belief that "When we assumed the soldier, we did not lay aside the Citizen".
LOYALTY OATH - BY JOINING OUR UNIT YOU HEREBY CONFIRM YOU WILL ABIDE TO AND BE BOUND BY THE FOLLOWING OATH...“I solemnly promise and affirm that I shall do everything in my power to firmly dedicate myself to serving and supporting the goals, principles, purposes and ideals of The 1776 Militia, that I shall conduct myself in the proper manner consistent with exemplifying the best qualities of a model American citizen, that I shall lend my support to any and all programs that are undertaken by the membership of the 1776 Militia that advance and promote the high ideals of American Patriotism and love of country, and that I will faithfully obey any and all lawful orders given to me by the officers of the 1776 Militia who have been duly appointed to stations, offices or positions superior to my own.
Furthermore, I promise and affirm that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that, if The 1776 Militia is called upon to serve in the defense of our great nation during any and all formally declared national emergencies, be they limited or unlimited in nature, that I shall faithfully obey the orders of my superiors, of the Governor of the State of North Carolina, and of the President of the United States in that capacity, so help me God."
