  1. Things that went wrong:

There may have been some slight communication issues regarding the SOP for entering our first rally point. Also,we had some comm issues that will work themselves out on the next FTX. My battery for my radio started to die towards the end of the session. Although this was somewhat intentional,as I hadn't charged it on purpose since our last FTX,to see how long it would last.

    Things that went well:

Great bunch of guys showed up. We practiced IMT's,and discussed SOP's for training exercises.

Almost all my gear was new,but I took the time to set it up prior,so there wasn't much in the means of bugs. The Condor radio pouch really cut down on the snags I was getting before.

Everyone there was receptive, and our patrolling really tightened up by the end of the day. For as many people that were there,(which makes moving undetected more difficult),we definitely started operating as a unit towards the end.

    What I learned:

We all definitely need to get our comms in order. And found myself unable to answer certain questions regarding our issues competently.

The new army ACU's are pretty decent in our environment.

The chest rig I spent a little extra on was comfortable. And the radio pouch was money well spent,as the last FTX,I'd relied on the clip, and had constant snags in heavy brush. I'm going to remove the clip all together to make pulling it from the pouch easier. Also, I'll only used the large floppy antennae when more power is necessary.

Also, in the future I need to be more clear on the SOP for entering the AO.

Over all it was a great day. Figured out some of my weaknesses and what I need to work on. We all became more cohesive as a team. And got to spend the day with a great bunch of guys. Thank you guys for coming. This is why we train!
