Erik Hanson replied to fixer's topic in Tactical - Operations, Methods & Maneuvers
My Oakleys are scratched beyond salvation. I need a new pair. I might get this set. -

Welcome for North Idaho -
Are you really sure you want a tuxedo? Do you want to look like you are the guy that has money and resources around a bunch of starving, desperate, dangerous, people? Lying may be a good short term solution, but if you lie to the wrong people and are discovered, well. That will be the end of your story in a hurry.

Muslims in the patriot militias
Erik Hanson replied to BuryTheHatchet's topic in Historical - Documents & Law
I used to be on the board of the United American Militia Advisory Council. I resigned over this issue. Muslims are a threat to the American way of life. Pure and simple. They should not be in the militia. Their first fealty is to their religion that stand juxtaposed to everything we believe. I would not allow a Muslim into our group, nor would I participate in cooperative training with another group that had a Muslim in their ranks. Think back upon the Hutaree. They were a Christian militia that declined to allow a Muslim, Matt Savino, into their ranks. Savino joined another group then b -
Newt is deep seated Establishment. Trump may select him just to get that support. Its possible.

Gun sales surge 26% at Sturm Ruger
Erik Hanson replied to fixer's topic in Historical - Documents & Law
Gun sales are going to go crazy, if Hellary gets "elected" then you can guarantee that many weapons are going to become hard to get. I plan on picking up two more AR-15 before the year is out. -
Tixan, I feel for your situation. I have been following the shift Turkey has made from a moderate Muslim country to embracing more extreme ideologies. If I was you, I would look to moving out of Istanbul and look to moving to the Kurdish area to the south. They are moderates that managed for centuries not to get crushed under Islamic tyrants. Christian communities may be another option, but they are often slow at defending themselves, hence the slaughter of the Armenians and the Asian Minor Orthodox by Turkish regimes. If Turkey goes the way to the rest of the Middle East, even moderate Muslim

Defensive or Offensive
Erik Hanson replied to AIM01's topic in Survival - Prepping, Bushcraft & Homesteading
I am all about the defense. Back out and let the worst happen to those who couldn't be bothered to help themselves. However, if I see some bad guys that are not prepared about their own security, well. I can be a little opportunistic and go on the offensive. -
I am in the Sons of Liberty of Idaho, we are up in Benewah and Latah Counties

Rooster is right. Even when I was active duty, we talked on platoon comms way different than on battalion -
The left loves LGBT and it loves Islam, so therefor Orlando must be the fault of gun owners.

Random Rant Regarding Rank.
Erik Hanson replied to Erik Hanson's topic in Historical - Documents & Law
I agree with Skillet. I was in the LFM and I did not care for the 3 man team concept. Four is strategically stronger than three, from everything like CQB to MedEvac. -
Sorry about the time it took to approve your request. I have been out-of-town on training and just getting back on here.

I would like to bring to your attention a small pet peeve of mine. The ranks people claim in the militia. To understand my perspective on this, I will give you a little bit of my background. I am a veteran of the U.S. Army. I served 6 years and did three combat tours in Iraq as a forward observer (13F). Both active duty and in the National Guard, but enough about that. Now the rank structure of the militias seems to follow the same basic structure of the Army. Makes sense, however this is being absurdly taking advantage of by a few. And those few are making a laughing stock of the res

I am in the Pacific North West. I agree that there are a few good tidbits in that book. I was forced to read it in Basic Training. I am just saying it is dangerous for a militia to adapt too much from this book.

THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION. Light Infantry Tactics fro small teams is not particularly a good book for the militia. This book is designed for infantry of a large army. A small team can sweep an area and if they find something, (like being shot at) they can call for air support, reinforcements, and MedEvacs. While the title says small team, the tactics are not of a small team completely independent of the larger army. A militia can not afford losses like the Army can. The militia does not have the resources and support of a real army. The militia should be following the tactics of guer

Spectre 6 brings up a lot of good points. I feel for what the Bundys were doing in Oregon and what happened to Finicum was nothing short of a planned execution. That being said, how the hell were there so many Stolen Valor wannabees out there in charge of crap? Ammon lost his damn mind listening to a bunch of Ghost Force Recon Video Game players (or whatever FPS these people play these days) pretending to be operators. I normally just laugh at these people, until they get others killed. I am not an operator and have done three tours in Iraq running patrols, convoys, and clearing house to house
