  1. Facebook sucks, anyone who follows me on Facebook knows that my participation is low. I use it mostly for recruitment purposes. (I also have a business thing I do on Facebook, but that is work and a totally separate issue). That being said, I am on the opposite end of this topic. We are a very open group. We have invited law enforcement officers to train with us. We have two reserve deputies as members. Most of our trainings are open to the public meaning that the community can come participate without even being members. Now you might think that this makes us vulnerable and I would disagree.
  2. I am a little behind. I have them recorded.
  3. Another post I wrote a few years ago. One of the few great things about television is that it provides a looking glass back in time. You can find old black-and-white programs from the late 40’s through the early 60’s and get a flavor of a society completely foreign to today’s. Technology has astoundingly changed the quality of lives of people since the end of the 19th Century to today; the dynamics of our cultural climate change has nearly given us what equates to be generational whiplash. Not that everything was prefect in those days, but concepts of individual liberties and freedoms we
  4. I wouldn't want to get into a gunfight with a .22LR
  5. @BuryTheHatchet, This really depends on the age of your children. I have two. Both girls. One 13 and the other 11. As AIM01 stated, I have taught both the fundamentals of firearms safety and marksmanship. I know that they know that guns are dangerous and not toys. I have begun teaching my eldest daughter the basics of CQB. I still need to have a serious conversation with them on the realities of shooting and killing another human being. Not an easy task for most people, let alone children.
  6. I have one of these and I do not recommend them. They are effective and comfortable enough, but a serious pain in the ass to put on, take off and adjust. If you have plates in, 6 full mags, and a few pieces of tactical gear, this vest can easily push 50 lbs. That is a pain to put on and take off over your head. It is also problematic from a medical standpoint if someone needs to get this thing off you to work on you. I recommend getting something more like the IBA that opens in the front and has a quick take down cable.
  7. A meme I made with my gear, back when Obama was telling us not to cling to our guns and bibles.
  8. My personal preference is the .40 S&W. It has become increasing unpopular, but my Glock 35 is my favorite sidearm and just works for me. Aside from that, I think my research has lead me to the belief that the 9mm is generally the best round on the market.
  9. I can trace some of my family back to the Civil War, but I am unable to trace any of my lineage to the Revolutionary War. Most of the lines that I can trace that far back were still in Europe.
  10. When the time comes, I know I will, but the hard part is determining that time.
  11. I am fortunate to live in a county where our sheriff is a member of the CSPOA.
  12. I wrote this a few years ago, but I still find it pertinent. “Out of My Cold, Dead Fingers” I have heard this line since I was a little kid. I love it. It’s even better than “molon labe” in my opinion! It paints a clear picture. If you want my guns, you are going to pay for them, in blood. Just the thought of it inspires me. With a motto like this soaring across the nation, no one should ever dare infringe on the 2nd Amendment, no less be brazen enough to actually attempt to confiscate a firearm from a red-blooded American. It would be suicide, right? Well, at least I used to t
  13. The executive office of the White House is developing yet another strong arm of the federal government and this time, it may carry enough political correctness to rally the liberals and split the patriots. In an ingenious series of expansion of powers, the feds have been systematically empowering tribal councils and tribal police across the western United States. Most patriots are already aware that most every department in the executive branch has been getting armed to the teeth over the last couple years, including the Postal Service, Department of Education and the Internal Revenue Service,
  14. This is simple. The U.S. Government is limited by the U.S. Constitution from what it can and can not own. Article 1, Section 8, clause 17 tells us what the government can own. It is written as follows: To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of
  15. Let’s be honest. No one has time to research absolutely everything we hear. If we hear something from a source we find credible, we generally accept it if it doesn’t conflict with a previously established conception. If we hear the same thing over and over, we just accept it as absolute truth because we believe at some point someone did their homework. How certain misconceptions begin, I am not sure, but it can lead us to spreading misinformation. It’s an innocent mistake and we all do it to some degree, because we just can’t verify everything. So, I believe it is with the common belief that “
  16. The Second Amendment is written as follows: “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” The Second Amendment could be arguably the most well-known amendment in the Bill of Rights mostly due to the heated debates in our society over individual gun rights and aspects of public safety often flaunted by those in favor of gun control. While most Americans may be familiar with the Second Amendment, few know its full text and fewer yet understand its meaning and intent. If we wan
  17. What is the militia? There is so much confusion out there today about this question because history has been blurred by changing times, rewriting of history, and the intentional fear-mongering of the press and political pundits. Unfortunately, this has been a great disservice to the American people and has helped remove one of the greatest obstacles to tyranny that we have. Our founding fathers had no problems answering this question; in fact, our founding fathers would be seen as deeply radical in today’s political and social atmosphere. In effort to help everyone better understand this quest
  18. Rebellion is the result of the people feeling that they would rather risk death for more control than to continue losing control to the current power over them. Now are the American people there yet? Well, it breaks down like this. If a man breaks any law, the government will claim a right to come and fine or imprison him as punishment. If he resists, they will claim the right to kill him. So, is the average man willing to risk death to prevent punishment or raise awareness about the injustice of said law? Maybe, depending on the amount of support he can garner. A man alone is more likely to s
  19. Granted, but we must consider when the government is calling foul, do they have a right to do so, more than just because they claim to represent the people?
  20. Hello all. I am the training officer for the Sons of Liberty of Idaho located in Benewah County of North Idaho.

  21. There is a lot more information brushed past or ignored in this post, making Bundy out to be the bad guy that really is putting a partisan spin on this that is not fair to the Bundys or their supporters. Bundy may not be prefect (who of us is?), but at least he was willing to stand up and not be a typical push over like most citizens.
