    Some TRUTH about COVID-19.
I work in a hospital in Chicago. As of yesterday, there are 22 patients that absolutely have COVID-19. NO DEATHS as of yesterday. There were about 1500 tests done. 17% of these were positive.  No doctors or nurses have passed away. They are having us wear N-95 masks/gown/gloves/bunny suit/shoe covers because this virus is more contagious than influenza because it has an incubation period of 12-14 days, therefore, you could be a carrier and not know it. It is passed more easily because of this. Healthcare workers are wearing these things to also protect other patients from getting it from us! This is why staying away from others is recommended. This is an equal opportunity virus. (Sorry young people).  This is the reason why we have such a lag in time with information and it is harder to get in front of the virus. The absolute best thing that you can do is BUILD UP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM!! Vitamin C, D,  Zinc, plenty of non-dehydrating fluids. SLEEP!!!! Eat well...NO JUNK FOOD!!! Keep a good GUT! This is where  a large part your immunity lies in addition to your lymphatic system. Try to eat organic fruit that has a lot of vitamin C, like berries/oranges. Elderberry syrup is good for kids that will not eat fruit. If you can't get organic, try to get fruit with thick skins and wash them well. Bananas/avocados are good examples. DO NOT SKIP MEALS!! If you have to at least drink a juice or already made protein shake if you cannot eat. (Except for diabetics). For you guys, try to get a protein shake without sugar. Some people swear by Colloidal Silver.  I do not have experience with that. Exercise mildly if you can. Do not over stress your body. You cannot overdose on Vitamin C if your kidneys are working well. At LEAST 8 hours sleep per night, if not more. WASH YOUR HANDS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!!  If you cannot, try to have at least 70% alcohol based hand sanitizer. Try to get some masks/ rubber gloves and while you are out, try to keep one clean hand, and one dirty hand. (We use that technique in the hospital sometimes). Use paper towels instead of towels to dry your hands. I am right handed, so I keep my right hand clean and my left hand dirty if absolutely needed. Keep wipes in your car and use them wherever your hands touch.  Even at the ATM! Watch the mail that you bring in. Open it with gloves and throw it out including cardboard boxes, asap. Try to avoid crowds as much as possible, and if you cannot, get out of the crowded area as soon as you can. If you live in a building, watch what you touch and DO NOT touch your face! In my building, I have been cleaning off any surface that hands touch. If everyone in my building stays in good health, so will I. We all have to think of each other too! If you know of a senior, check on them. Help your neighbors if they need it, but just be careful for you both. TRY TO BUILD AN IMMUNE SHIELD AROUND YOUR BODY!!  Keep clean with showers/baths frequently. If some virus gets on your hair, you can shower and get rid of it. That way, if you have protection, but maybe make a mistake and touch your face, your immunity will take over. Be careful of your eyes as well. Viruses can enter there too. Wear some glasses if you go out.  The ambulances in Chicago are using a product that uses UV radiation to disinfect the ambulance after a COVID-19 patient was in there and after each call. It is actually made by a "Pet company" named "Petairapy". It kills all cells and I believe they make more than one kind of unit. I think they have HVAC as well.
It completely kills the virus in about 5 minutes. It is really amazing. Here is a link to the story:
It could work in a hospital/nursing home/school very easily!
The company is located in St. Charles, Illinois.
Do not listen to Alex ones too much. It will just stress you out. Listen to music to calm you.
Remember, the countries that are getting hit the most are the ones like us that have big cities where people are close together. Countries that have people spread out will be a lot less. It is difficult to get someone sick if you are not around them. Hence, just do what you absolutely need to.  A vaccine may not help you if they try to develop one. The influenza vaccine is not matched most of the time and is not extremely effective. Not  only that, but vaccines have adjuvants, some that are forms of mercury ( thimerosal) and preservatives/aluminum and actually may lower your immunity.
So....this thing is avoidable and not forever! It can be killed like any other virus. It just hangs around longer on surfaces and in the air. They said 3 hours in the air and 3 days on surfaces. Clean all of the surfaces where hands go.  Mom's have to be vigilant like they are warriors! So, men support your women!! The smallest effort on your part will be greatly appreciated!! Remember women feel like the "caretakers" of everyone, and if they need a day off or a massage, DO IT!! ** Use common sense and do not be afraid. It will pass. The more careful we are, the sooner this thing goes away and we go back to normal.** Take care of your mental state! Your body and mind is connected closely and you need to think and stay positive! I meditate daily with" Jason Stephenson" on YouTube with his guided mediations. They are so relaxing, I fall asleep every time. If you know that someone is positive (or think that they may be) , get them to the ER if they cannot breathe OR if they feel like they are getting sicker very quickly, or if they are high risk (underlying diagnosis like Diabetes/heart disease/lung issues) and try to mask them if possible. Some of the hospitals are using HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN with some success on the most critical cases and early cases if they can.
If you have heart disease, these meds may cause arrhythmia so BE CAREFUL WITH THAT!!
My hospital HAS NOT BEEN OVERWHELMED!!! I live near a LARGE CITY!!! CHICAGO!!  So....be vigilant and take care of each other. DO NOT BE AFRAID and everyone will be complaining about their jobs really soon! Just think of this as an unexpected vacation that you spend to clean your house, car, and sort out those bills that you have been avoiding for a while!!
If you have FAITH, PRAY....Never a bad idea.... SPEND TIME WITH YOUR CHILDREN!! Look at this as we are going through this for a reason that we do not understand. All bad has goos and vice-versa. This is LIFE and the way that you handle it is VERY IMPORTANT!!
I am not sure what is going on in New York, but my best guess would be that they do have more cases because of the size and location that they are in. I see all different numbers on the TV so it is really hard to know what that truth is, so I will not comment on that.
As for the stores, people were panicking and toilet paper, milk, and bread were hard to come by, but since the beginning of the week, the shelves are stocked again. I always have emergency food/supplies/money  just in case, so that gives me solace.
<DON'T ALWAYS BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE ON TV> They are humans like us and DON"T always get the stories correct. Everyone is under pressure right now, so expect things to be off.
I hope this helps some people...I will pray for everyone daily. STAY STRONG!!!!
Stay safe and happy... AMERICA FOREVER!!!

It is not and these people need to listen the warnings and start thinking of the people around them that could be affected by there actions! I wish people would wake up and start taking this seriously for everyone's sake! Are the politicians politicizing it? Yes they are but that doesn't mean it isn't real!!!

Are we all going to sit by and allow all our freedoms to be stripped away?  How are these lockdown orders legal?  Why did it take 5 days to get NICS to approve my gun purchase?

This globalist attack through CORVID-19 is the avenue they needed to begin testing how easily we’d submit to the  governing bodies.

COVID-19 is just starting here. Lets hope for Summer to get here and hope that it goes away like the flu does. In time they will have vaccinations just like the flu. Until we get this under control and the stock markets start going back up 401K's and retirement accounts are also in the sewer. People need to stop the over panicking and prepare with calmer heads. In my opinion anyone that knows they have been in contact with someone that has been sick they should not come to FTX's until they know it's safe to do so. We don't need our groups getting sick especially now when we might be needed. Start having regular Comms checks and figure out where you can make improvements. Communications are crucial in times where we might be needed to help.

In my late teens and early 20's, I spent my time in the Army Medical Corps.  Most of it in Hq. & Hq.  8th Div., Germany.  It was in the time we could watch the Russians, in  the East, on the other side of no man's land, as we watched them from our side.   It was about that time we saw our first M-14's.
Spent the next twenty years in the Fire Service doing the same kind of work.  Saved some.  Lost some.
When I retired, we move from Vegas to Oregon.  The heat in Vegas is Murder.
I spent the next 12 years in Oregon working for the Sheriff's office.  That was until the War Department told me we were moving back to Nevada.  I found out she did not like the politics of the LEFT COAST.   You would think that I could figure that out as we have been together,  April 9th, 2020, for 50 years.
I now reside at a 15 to 20 minute ride East of Carson City in a small town of Dayton.  Yeah, it is Quite.  I like it that way.  Except that several times a month, I travel into Reno to the VA Hospital.   Yeah, I am 60% disabled.
I have taken the time to read Mastodon's writings.   I have to agree that we both think it is a good idea to be well armed.  I also do not think he is incorrect in that there will be another un-Civil War.  From my research, the last election gave Nevada an Anti-Constitutional type of Governor. That brought on the 2A Sanctuary Counties.  There is talk of a Recall.  Oh Boy!
The last AR I built was in 6.5 Grendel. It is a nice long range Cartridge.  I put a 24 inch Barrel on the rifle and the rest of the furniture is to fit me to my liking.  I just might be in a little trouble here as I enjoy the shooting sports and competition.  Yeah, I have been to the National Matches.  I am not as good as I used to be.  Must be getting old.
The Carson City Rifle Range will be closed into April after a 8 hundred thousand dollar refit.
I have taken the OATH to Preserve and Defend the Constitution More than once.  I have even read the Document more often than that.  The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land.  That Supreme Court Ruling has not been over ruled.

Dav Harzin reacted to TRAWDADDY for a status update, SHOULD CHRISTIANS STOCKPILE FOOD AND SUPPLIES? There are certainly occasions where it
There are certainly occasions where it makes practical sense to make preparations for the future. However, it is our attitude to this that is important. Our Lord Jesus made it clear in His Sermon on the Mount that we aren’t to worry ourselves about “tomorrow,” that our Heavenly Father knows our needs before we even ask Him, and that He will faithfully provide for us (Matthew 6:25-34).
Placing our faith in God for our future needs should give us confidence in His provision for us as well as an open hand for all we meet who are in need.

Look at the great example of this with the widow who fed Elijah (1 Kings 17:9-16) and how God rewarded her for her faithfulness. At the same time, there are other scriptural examples where God clearly advises about planning ahead. In the Old Testament we can see from the dream that Pharaoh had that God wanted Joseph to advise him to prepare for a forthcoming famine to keep the people from starvation (Genesis 41:15-41).

In accepting Joseph’s God-given advice, Pharaoh not only saved his own people from starvation, he also saved Joseph’s family, who were the ancestors of the coming Messiah, Jesus.

In the New Testament, when Jesus was sending out His disciples ahead of Him, He told them not to take any provisions with them (Luke 9:3; 10:1-4). And after their return He reminded them of how they were provided for (Luke 22:35). Yet in the following verse, Jesus reverses His advice and tells them to take with them a purse, a bag, and a sword (Luke 22:36).

Perhaps He knew they were to face opposition they hadn’t encountered before. He had wisdom and foreknowledge the disciples lacked, and this led Him to give different directions in different circumstances.

Practically speaking, of course it is right and sensible to make preparations for the future. But we must be careful not to place extraordinary confidence in those preparations. Jesus’ parable about the prosperous business man who wanted to build bigger barns for his crops is an example of poor planning.

The rich man was looking to his riches for his provision and security (Luke 12:16-21). There was nothing wrong, in principle, with his building bigger barns. Where his attitude was wrong was by placing his confidence in himself, without acknowledging God in his plans.

After all, it was to God he needed to be thankful for the increased crops he had, and it was God’s wisdom he would need for how he would spend his wealth. But he never consulted God, and his life was taken before he even had a chance to spend or use what he had hoarded.

The bottom line is that we must seek the wisdom of God in matters of preparation for the future. God promises to grant wisdom to all who seek it (James 1:5), and He never fails to keep His promises.

Christians must be wise stewards of what God has provided, setting aside enough for basic needs and investing our money, time and talents in a future eternity that will never fade away (Matthew 6:19-20). When preparing for tomorrow, think “eternity.”

Dav Harzin reacted to TRAWDADDY for a status update, BIBLICAL SELF-DEFENSE www.http://biblicalselfdefense.com/ Possession of weapons and s

Possession of weapons and skills with weapons a good and useful thing.

Having looked at a number of passages that deal with weapons and self-defense, let's spend a little time discussing Scripture's view of owning weapons and being skilled in their use. The imagery of weapon use and skill at weapons use is often employed in Scripture, and it is often portrayed as a positive or desirable thing.

The Lord's might is something good, and it is often depicted using martial terms (Zec. 9:14, Psa. 7:13, 18:14, 21:12, 64:7, Hab. 3:11, Deu 32:42, 2 Sam 22:15). The Scriptures are a sword (Eph. 6:17; Heb 4:12). A sword comes out of the mouth of Christ (Rev. 1:16, 2:16, 19:15).

Possession of weapons is never discouraged in Scripture. In fact, in 1Sam 13:19ff, it is negatively reported that no spears or swords were found in Israel because of the Philistines:

1 Samuel 13:19-22  9 Now there was no blacksmith to be found throughout all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, "Lest the Hebrews make swords or spears."...  22 So it came about, on the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people who were with Saul and Jonathan. But they were found with Saul and Jonathan his son.

Let's look at two verses from the Psalms:

Psalm 144:1 Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:

Psalm 18:34 He teaches my hands to make war, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

Skill and ability to use weapons here, whether literal and/or metaphorical, is positively portrayed in these verses.

Further, we have accounts of David, not a soldier, not a law enforcement officer, but a youth, employing ranged weapons skillfully (with God's help) against bears and lions. This is domestic use of lethal weaponry, non-military use, with non-military training.

The weapons used by young David are not "kiddie" slingshots. They are powerful enough to kill a bear and lion--in today's market, we're talking about a .44 magnum, not a .22, in the hands of someone too young to be in the army.

We might be tempted to think that was just for dealing with animals that could threaten sheep. But aren't humans worth even more protection than sheep?

We understand that according to Scripture, in matters not of worship or church government, whatever is not forbidden is permitted. I'm not making a claim that ownership of weaponry for the purpose of self-defense is required of the believer. It is not required, but it is permitted by Scripture.

Now, let's conclude with some warnings.

    Trusting in the sword

First of all, it would be a mistake to leave this class trusting in the sword. Guns, knives, weapons... these are mere tools, and none of these things can guarantee protection, any more than owning a fire extinguisher guarantees that your house won't burn down.

Psalm 44:6-7   For I will not trust in my bow, Nor shall my sword save me.  7 But You have saved us from our enemies, And have put to shame those who hated us.
We see in Nehemiah 4:14 that the people were armed and willing to use their weapons, but they were also trusting in the Lord:

"Do not be afraid of them; remember the Lord who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses....  20 "At whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us."

Do not put your trust in weapons. They are tools that are useful, but they are only dead, inanimate tools, at the end of the day."...the LORD does not deliver by sword or by spear; for the battle is the LORD's." (1Sa 17:47 NAS)

    Improperly resorting to the sword.

Secondly, beware of improperly resorting to the sword. I would hope the passages dealing with the shedding of blood impressed on you the narrow limitations for when it is proper to employ lethal force. It is never to be in hatred, never in revenge, never in jealously. David in his pride nearly murdered Nabal, but Abigail restrained him. David would have killed Nabal...and regretted it.

1 Samuel 25:32 And David said to Abigail, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who sent thee this day to meet me:  33 and blessed be thy discretion, and blessed be thou, that hast kept me this day from bloodguiltiness, and from avenging myself with mine own hand.

Employing potentially lethal force out of anger, hatred, jealously, or revenge is always wrong and is condemned by Scripture.

Here is a warning: If you find that you have anger or self-control problems, owning weapons is unwise. The believer is to be "not soon angry, no brawler, no striker" (Titus 1:7). Lamech is an example of someone who should not own weapons (Gen. 4:23f).

When you are insulted or cursed, when your wife or your mother is insulted or cursed, you are not to resort to violence.

27 But I say unto you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you,  28 bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.  29 To him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and from him that taketh away thy cloak withhold not thy coat also.  30 Give to every one that asketh thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.  (Luk 6:27-30)

There are a lot of great virtues depicted in the classic westerns. The propensity to break into fistfights or gunfights when honor is insulted is not a virtue. The Lord, not you, is to take vengeance and set things right. An insulting slap in the face is something you can suffer as a Christian.

What if you are badly wronged? What if your wife or daughter is badly wronged? You must stop an attack that is in progress, but afterwards, you must not seek revenge. There is no room for vigilantes.

Rom 12:19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.

A wrong admiration for the "man of violence"

Thirdly, do not admire the "man of violence".
Proverbs 3:31-32  Do not envy a man of violence, And do not choose any of his ways.  32 For the crooked man is an abomination to the LORD; But He is intimate with the upright.

Those who resort to violence rather than Godliness are not to be admired. There are many similarities between David and Joab. Both were skilled at killing men, and both had killed many men.

Were they both men of violence? Here is the difference: David, first and foremost, sought the Lord, trusted the Lord, and loved the Lord. Why didn't he do violence against Saul? It wasn't because Saul was his father-in-law. Rather, it was because Saul was the Lord's anointed. It was because of David's regard first for the Lord that he would not resort to violence.

On the other hand, Joab, over and over, resorted to the sword to deal with problems. Joab was a man of violence.Proverbs 1:16 For their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed blood.
    Romans 3:15 Their feet are swift to shed blood;

Earth was destroyed in the day of Noah because "the earth was filled with violence" (Gen 6:11ff). God hates violence. There is a narrow scope in which it is applied righteously, but it is only because of sin that such skill is necessary.

Beware of influences in your life which would encourage admiration of a Joab rather than a David.

Fourthly and finally, keep the right perspective on this. Though we see sanction and even a qualified directive from Christ to possess personal weapons, we must remember three points.

First, in the remainder of the New Testament, we have no further examples of believers taking up the sword. Secondly, the emphasis in the remainder of the New Testament is decidedly not geared toward the issues of physical self-defense or righteous use of lethal force.

Rather, we see more emphasis on Godly living, suffering affliction and persecution for Christ, and grasping the precious doctrines of Christ and the Gospel.

Possession of weapons and acquiring the skill to use them in self-defense is permitted but not required by Scripture.

Believers should be conscious that personal self-defense is legitimatized by the Scriptures, just as the use of construction tools, cooking tools, transportation tools are legitimized by Scripture.

And these matters of self-defense should hold in our minds and in our affections the same position as those other legitimate, but transitory, matters.

The tendency in some circles is to make the topic of self-defense of primary importance. Though heavenly beings do battle and render judgments with the sword, in the perfection pictured in both the garden of Eden and in the Heavenly city, the primary activities are fellowship with God, fellowship with His people, singing in worship, and living in peace.

    That is our destination.   www.trawdaddy.blogspot.com
