Hello, Truth Teller. I'm in the same boat! I too am looking for a militia in the Memphis area. I live in Collierville (suburban Memphis). I have zero military experience, but I have a lot of firearms knowledge and some professional skills. I'm pretty sure that theirs no active militia in our area, so perhaps at the very least we should try to form a group to discuss the possibilities. Something -- even if loosely organized -- would be better than nothing. The recent events in Virginia have me concerned; it is this more than anything else that has prompted me to action. I might have a line on someone else who might also interested. Personally, I'm not a leadership type, but I have good organizational skills.

As the title says, I live in an area where there are apparently no militias, but given the recent activity in Virginia, I've decided to see how I can get involved. I'm a bit old for such things, but could bring qualifications in the following areas: (1) firearms including long-range shooting, reloading, etc.; (2) Computer Science, which is my profession; (3) Security systems, once held just about highest possible military and non-military government clearances. I have zero actual military experience. I am in excellent physical condition. I live in Collierville, Tennessee, which is in the Memphis area. Bottom line: I'm in no way qualified to be a leader in a militia context, but I'm willing to learn and not afraid to work hard.

Looking to Join Militia in Memphis Area.
in Tennessee Militias
Posted
I'm one of the people who was originally searching for a group in the Collierville (greater Memphis area) in Tennessee. I see that there has been a lot of action on the thread. I am no longer searching for a militia.
I went ahead and joined a local group that I was put into contact with by a relative in another state. They won't call themselves a militia, but it's just a technicality. They have no public face and are organized like an intelligence organization. I'm told that it's a very large organization with multiple cells in every state, but so far, I only know three people, including my relative. (My relative is not in the local group.) I'm told that the local group actually has more than ten members. After a reasonable (unspecified) period of trust and verification, I will be introduced to the larger local organization. Honestly, even though I have yet to be fully accepted, this seems like a much better model than most traditionally minded militia organizations. The group is united by a clear set of principles which would be very easy for any traditional American who accepts the Constitution as originally conceived and implemented. Even if people are not lucky enough to be recruited by such a group, they should, given the current political environment, consider this cellular way of organizing. Personally, I could care less about having a uniform or a military-style rank, my primary concern is defending our rights and freedoms as guaranteed in the Constitution from "enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC." The traditional militia model is being watched and infiltrated by the Deep State actors.
