  1. So true. I have in-laws in Owego and Endicott. Beautiful place that I love to visit. NY City is like another place altogether. Wouldn't miss it if it slid into the ocean.
  2. Spent time in St. George, love that little town.
  3. I've preached this for years. No military uniforms and a spare, different colored shit. Hit and run, change appearance and walk away.
  4. Just take a moment and think about what goes down in these encounters when it isn't filmed by someone.....
  5. Totally agree. Everyone with their own agenda.
  6. I have always been a proponent of being under one banner, or even one banner per state, but have seen that this movement draws too many type A personalities for that to ever come to fruition. No commander will want to give up his power, just ask any of the generals or supreme commanders on this site. I think you probably mean the Gun Control Act of 1968. You (and all of us) need to contact your senators and representatives and have the Gun Control Act of 1934 repealed first, as it was the foundation of the 1968 act. Then the 1968 act could be called for repeal. If that were success
  7. I too was taught to never attempt restraint using a suspects head or throat area. This officer knew better I'm sure. Had I been there I would have been arrested as well. That shit just don't fly. I can't believe the crowd just stood there. Yeah, I'm mad about it.
  8. The politicians see the divide and are acting on it, it's what politicians do. The garbage from DC ebbs and flows, just like the "Black Lives Matter" died out with Obama, and the ANTIFA has died down due to ineffectiveness, the whole COVID-19 thing will go away the first week of November. Then there will be a new thing. There will be a time in this country when the people will again rise up against tyranny and there is little need for us to push it. This country is populated with many like my departed Father, who was a quiet man, wouldn't have given any thought to joining a militia or marching
  9. Tempstar checking in. SC Militia Guard recruiting in the Grand Strand area.
  10. As I have told before, I walked away 20 years ago due to 5 of 21 members of our group ending up being LEO's. Things I took away from that: Make sure you can subtly verify their place of employment and drop in one day to see if they are there. Never engage in discussions of illegal activities or weapons, and never ever put your prints on any illegal device someone "shows up" with. Any brother willing to fight alongside you should have no problem with you knowing where they live. As for being lured into civil war, I think the initial groundwork was to be laid with the election of Hil
  11. And always be aware there are cops hidden among both sides! Standard operating procedure!
  12. So, businesses, police, fire, TV and movie production, taxi's, hospitals are all populated by dorks as well? They all have a "sticker" to operate on their segment of the airwaves. They also will freak out if you trespass on their frequency. As for ham, at least the "sticker" keeps out the riff-raff.
  13. As I said in my first sentence. If only being able to communicate over radio for 5 miles or so (unless the magical skip comes into play) is your thing and you so vehemently are set to defend it, go ahead. Skip is determined by the sunspot cycle and atmospheric conditions such as E-layer and ducting. When "skip" is active for 11 meters, it is for a good part of the amateur bands as well. I have never known a ham to switch to AM mode 11 meters when FM SSB is available, with tens of thousands of frequencies to choose from. I actually talk all over the world and never have to wait for "skip", beca
  14. Better that folks like you stay away from the Ham bands anyway. Most people not intelligent enough to pass the tests seem to have this attitude, so I get where you're coming from. As far as staying "outta trouble", I won't do the Google work for you but there are many more instances of CB'ers being fined than hams, and quite a few GMRS violations as well. I see you list FRS/GMRS in your tirade, so apparently you aren't aware that GMRS also requires an FCC license and costs $70.
  15. Generate income for who? The FCC dos not charge for an amateur radio license. The reasoning behind licensing Amateur Radio has a lot to do with the frequencies one has access to, many times very close to military and commercial frequencies. The license is proof that the operator has demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in understanding the rules and operation of their equipment as pertains to their license class. CB radio is a good example of what an unlicensed band can become: Operators on those frequencies often use modified radios or amplifiers to boost their signal to hundreds of watts,
  16. Use this time to study general class as well. Not that much harder and a lot of the same info. Extra is a little different story though. Grey Horse- I sent you an email on this, check your spam folder!
  17. Preppers, and not ashamed to admit I am one, are overwhelmingly Conservative and either Independent or Republican. The Hoarders are liberal and Democrat all the way. I get a lot of useful gear from them though. Every time there is hurricane danger they buy up generators and camping gear which becomes available for pennies on the dollar 6-8 months later. In 2008 when the economy turned sour, I bought 7 new in the box generators over several months and later re sold all at list price when the next hurricane came through. Back to the topic, the very nature of being a Patriot and a member of
  18. My best friend in high school, and a lifelong friend. died the first Friday of April. He was on a vent, no visitors, in a containment room. After his passing his brother was informed that cremation would be necessary. The rub is that they denied it was Covid19. Another high school friend who is a GP said they were saying that to downplay the virus. They also made the two brothers and their families get tested for Covid19. The rub here for me is that even though his wife tested positive, (she never has had any symptoms) they have downplayed this one case I know of. His official death certi
  19. Well put. Most FB posters and video makers end up being wanna-be's anyway. I have never been able to comprehend people wanting to go play war, unless maybe they have never had to play war for real. It's an ugly, nasty business. People need to lay low, quietly train, and be ready to defend our constitution and way of life.
  20. Please explain how it makes half the noise on propane? I thought that since propane has a lower BTU content than gasoline it would actually work harder and make more noise. I like to stay up on these things if there is a technology I don't know about.
  21. Colt bought in 98 or so. Somewhere in the 10k range of rounds through it, still looks new and still rock solid at 200 yds. I paid around $1200 for it way back then.
  22. Radio frequency can be dangerous, and have a stacked exposure effect, however distance is key. 5G runs anywhere from 600mhz through 50 ghz. The 50 ghz everyone is so concerned about has an effective distance of about a mile, a little more with a high gain antenna. You would have to plant yourself 2' in front of the radiator for a while to have a problem. Also to be considered is the milliwatt power this band is typically licensed for. Now I have been in front of 18KW at 485 mhz and it feels like ants crawling all over you. I have also been in front of a 38db radome spewing 11k ERP at 5.7 ghz a
  23. "Muster call of up to 1 million issued through executive order for pandemic aide and supply relief. Troops deployed full battle rattle, states begin trying use them to initiate lockdown through check points." My cousin is a 15 year National Guardsman who has been called up. NO "battle rattle" or even weapons, just doing transport of things like medical supplies and produce in NC somewhere. I do know they received medical supplies from a ship and transported them to the Wake County area.
  24. It is a 1 1/4" black iron pipe into the bottom side of the barrel, and 2 1/4" car exhaust from NAPA, wrapped in motorcycle heat wrap, out of the top side of the barrel. The heat wrap is my attempt to keep the pipe from rusting though it will eventually. If I was going to do it over I would use 2" conduit. It still gets pretty warm after about 30 minutes so PVC is out. The science behind it is this: The irregular shaped rocks make the sound energy change direction many times, and each time some of the energy is absorbed as more heat and as vibration. The ground around the barrel attenuates
