I can spot any radio that transmits from 1khz to 6.5 ghz instantaneously on a spectrum analyzer. Spectral purity is a quality issue, and has nothing to do with DF. Just to shed a little light, any HT is only going to be good when you are close. The UV-5R is a great radio for what we do that won't break the bank.
