I've been looking online for places to go shoot and most of them are inside ranges. There's one close to me but they charge $20 an hour. I went there ONCE to sight in a new 9mm. I'm 74 yrs old and remember, back in the day, I would go rabbit hunting right behind the police station and no one said anything. I could go plinking down by the river all day and again, no one said a word. Now, if someone hears a gun shot, they call 911. I have two new ARs thats never been shot. There's a big, state owned, wooded area not far from me but Illinois says we can hunt on state property

We need to go shooting sometime.

I know someone who had a vision back when Obama got elected to his first term and started buying .22 ammo. When Obama got re-elected, he doubled down and kept buying .22 ammo. If I told you how much .22 ammo he has now would blow your freeking mind. He has three Ruger 10/22's and swears by them. Don't ever fool yourself about a .22 caliber semi auto. Their light weight, accurate and deadly. Not much knock down power but it's ALL about shot placement. He can easily get a head shot at 200 yards and with the Ruger 25 round mags, he's battle ready.

I been prepping since Obama's 1st term. I doubled down in his 2nd term. We can last a year. I have a garden in the back yard and the means to protect what we have. I'm to damned old to bug out so if the SHTF, we're going to hunker down and hang on.
