My Militia Standards and Practices - Bylaws

Recommended Posts

WE PRESENT THE FOLLOWING MILITIA S&P BYLAWS AND DECLARE THEM TO BE ACCEPTABLE GUIDELINES FOR WHICH ALL UNITS SHALL CONDUCT THEMSELVES.

MY MILITIA IS NOT ANTI-GOVERMENT NOR ARE WE AN UMBRELLA ORG. WE ARE A NETWORKING, SELF RELIANCE AND EDUCATION COMMUNITY. WE HAVE DEVELOPED THESE BYLAWS AS A STEP TOWARDS THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF OUR GOALS.

The following communication surveys the presence of the Unorganized American Militia movement as to be depicted on the internet and explores how the Militia movement uses My Militia website to build a networked community. The adaption of My Militia from a tool of the elite to a mass consumption commodity for everyone shall increase the potential to improve social organization and strengthen the movement within. This transformation also allows for new conceptions of the community and improves the way relationships based on our shared identities are built. My Militia helps its members improve upon themselves and expand.

My Militia has allowed locally-based groups and isolated individuals to connect with one another and create a shared identity. This identity, based on the connections mediated by My Militia gives the membership a bridge by converting users from individuals to being a part of their local Militia organization.

This is by no means a comprehensive list of all standards held by various elements of the Militia movement. However, it is indicative of the common strands that we feel militia groups should operate. The exact manner in which these three beliefs are verbalized differs from group to group but there are some widely shared interpretations.

My Militia is not here to argue with the ignorant, nor provide 'proof' for the disbelieving. We are a network of doers, not whiners or talkers. We are not designed for people who are simply "surfing". We have a specific audience that we are intending to reach, and which we make clear immediately upon logging in. We offer open access, With full intent of open distribution of information. We Allow all users to access and exchange information on local militia events and meetings. This is the only way to restore the Militia, To expose the good we do. We do not permit any Illegal activity. If you feel the need for secrecy this is not the place for you.

Your unit shall serve to concentrate and reinforce these beliefs of the Militia movement. Those individuals inclined to request more information about your unit shall be met immediately with information to curb their fears and prejudices as the negative perception precedes us.

It is Suggested that the Highest Ranking Officer is to contact local county/municipal sheriff to discuss community service and call to arms and discover where they fit in with local officials.

Contact information should be shared, Militias are not to implement a "Call To Arms" they can only be activated by county/municipal sheriff.

This will be our standards, they are subject to extreme situations.

"The militia is more accurately called a guarantor of a peaceful society. We consider the militia as strictly a DEFENSIVE organization. Our function is to preserve and defend the Constitution of the United States of America as well as the citizenry at large." The Militia movement defines itself as the defender of the Constitution and traditional values. Although membership in this movement is "open to all", it is with the proviso that those wishing to join believe in a conception of reality which contains a sharp delineation between the Militia movement and the rest of society. One of fundamental strands within the Militia movement is the declaration of the sovereignty of the local over the federal or the global. Nationwide militias are not suggested due to legalities. We emphasize power to your units local levels working hand in hand with local officials as need be. The highest level of power should be embodied in the office of county/municipal sheriff. It is also contained in the very organizational structure of the movement. Although various individuals have attempted to assume the mantle of national leadership, no formal organization exists that controls a large number of militia groups. Rather they are organized at the state and county level and present themselves as defenders of their own particular locale.

Because the internet allows anyone to present themselves as anyone or anything, it is difficult to determine which units are representative of larger groups and which are the work of individuals with aspirations of grandeur. However, it is possible to make cautious judgments of the importance of a unit based on its popularity and sophistication. Some unit sites have a "counter" attached to them that measures the number of times a page is accessed. This is useful to give a sense of the popularity of a site, although it does not differentiate between an idle curiosity seeker and someone searching for militia news or commentary. Moreover, these numbers must be accessed carefully as they can be artificially inflated by the owner of the page to convey a sense of vitality to a site. This being the case. We ask that your current unit size be posted on your pinned post or website homepage with a date....

1-10 small 10-30 medium 30+ large

Units pages and sites also run the gamut in geographical specificity from catering to the nation or a region. We require your units specific location and reach ie.. city, county, state, national on your groups Pined post or website homepage with a date.

In terms of content, your militia page should show complete unanimity on your units stance on Religion, Racism, and Genders. This information should be displayed publicly.

What gets presented on your units pages shall not be window-dressing. Honesty and Openness is the only proper method for recruitment.

Your site shall include a mission statement It must not be solely dedicated to news or selling militia related merchandise such as books, tape, and survival gear. because it will be unclear whether your pages are the "official" web pages for your unit or if it has been set up autonomously by outsiders or individual members of the movement. Who can skew your units primary purpose and hinder its progress.

As a well designed and technically sophisticated Web site My Militia can create an aura of reliability and representation This has been important for the Militia movement by providing people with verification for conspiracy theories from "authorities" located in cyberspace. You shall continue this on your individual pages as we have strict adherence to Fake News and False Flags you shall not post any violating communications as you are representing the movement.

Militia conspiracies theories and discourse negatively increases the isolation that scattered individuals and groups may encounter in their own units. Rather than feeling like one group against the nation it is possible for the local organization to picture itself as part of a larger community that shares its beliefs. This also can serve to explain and reinforce the fears of people who would otherwise remain isolated from any larger movement. to curb this cause and effect we ask that you show our badge on your site linked back to My Militia this will help the individuals feel like they are part of something larger.

Communicating between de-centralized groups and individuals. My Militia offers an ideal form of communication for the movement one that is widely dispersed and has no centralized organization. The fast communication offered by My Militia is ideal for spreading news and creating links between local Patriot and Militia organizations. Issues can be debated, new allied groups can be formed, and strategies charted independently from centralized structures. At the same time groups are able to remain aware of the directions in which the movement is moving. We ask that you keep My Militia up to date with news, events and happenings. Social networks like Facebook should only be used for recruitment all other communications should take place on your own website or My Militia.

Remember many patriot and militia groups exist without a visible presence on the internet. The movement emerged at a time of social reorganization. My Militia acts as an amplifier to trends that are preexisting in society and allow these trends to strengthen the militias legitimacy and reach. So while the birthplace of the Militia can be found in the transformation in the organizational structures of society, the internet has provided a nurturing environment in which to develop an expanding community for which you are a part of.

" We require your current membership numbers on your groups Pined post or website homepage with a date.".. There is no way that is going to happen. We also do things similar to what is posted here, but not exactly the same. I'm also not changing our handbook and how we do things based on "requirements" from people that I don't know or have anything to do with my group. I had a feeling that this sort of thing was going to happen on this page. It was just a matter of time.

You need to remove Southern Arizona Militia and any traces of it, as well as me off of this site. I didn't like that you added my group to this without contacting me in the first place and now I want no association with this site at all.

We are the real deal and I don't need to change to your requirements to prove it.

we never asked you to change, we only set forth some guidelines for the units to stand with. if you do not want to post your membership numbers than that's your choice we do not govern the units within we only network them with other units and individuals and we will place other upstanding units in front of yours. that is our responsibility to the members here to make sure we dont get them involved in something they dont want to be can you not see where we are coming from?

alas how can we recommend and build the membership of a unit that wont disclose its size?

im courious as to what your hang up is with disclosing your units numbers anyone who truly beleaves in the credo of the modern militia movement would not feel the need to keep such information secretive.

if your unit has very low numbers and/or participation than you may feel the need for this facade which misleads potential members and is a disservice to your fellow man.

if that is the case why not enterian the option of merging with a nearby unit?

I do not see any other reason to ghost this information unless you have intent of performing tasks of an illegal nature.

Would like more feedback from you but if you wish to take your ball and go home that's fine too

You're right, you never asked us to change. You are merely saying that if we don't do this, we're an unreputable group. The proof of this is your quote right here "we will place other upstanding units in front of yours." You're also assuming that we have low numbers or participation, this is evident by your statement "if your unit has very low numbers and/or participation than you may feel the need for this facade which misleads potential members and is a disservice to your fellow man." Then you act as if because we don't want our numbers published, that I or the group doesn't "truly believes in the credo of the modern militia movement." Added to which, it must be that because we don't want our numbers posted that we "have the intent of performing tasks of an illegal nature." These are all your quotes from your reply. So no, you never asked us to change anything, you're just attempting to bully people into following your guidelines that you deemed to be the way that "real" militias are supposed to do things. Because if they don't, they must have low numbers and are planning to do illegal things.

We don't need nor did we ask for your help to build, we are already one of the largest and most active in the state.

Thank you and it is impossible to please everyone and we really thought the call to arms would be the hardest sell.

We are here to help and no matter if your are an individual looking for a unit or a unit leader we want to help

the site has been growing and we have over 400 units linked , we want to get better, we want to get stronger. we have long lists of people begging for a unit to join. until now we went 100% on locale and with in a few days that same person is back looking for another unit because of many reasons ...

we can eliminate 95% of these failure to launch reasons by "asking" units to abide to a general set of bylaws , they are quite flexable and we are willing to adjust and adapt we have no intent to tell you or anyone else how to run your unit , we are not asking you to franchise with us its only a few simple rules to help us help you as thats what makes the movement stonger

@Silverback we have amended the bylaws to reflect a general unit size rather than specific we hope that this is satisfactory with you as we feel it still accomplished what we need on our end to help

I dont know a whole lot about rule and reg making but i think whats set forth here is reasonable. There is alot of fakery on the web and a whole lot of groups doing things people wouldnt want to get mixed up in. I believe in patriotism and helping my country men in times of crisis and having a reliable network to pursue those goals while having a safety net to fall back on myself. However there are so many weekend warrior and extremist groups parading as what a militia should in fact be that until this point ive been hesitant to bother even looking. Above mentioned illusions of grandeur seem to be prevailing in the keyboard world. While in the real world meeting like minded people is difficult because by nature the people, at least the ones im searching for are extremely busy, cautious and have to face the world with certain repute.

The question keeps coming up so here it is...

ARE MILITIAS LEGAL?

They're right there in the Constitution, prefacing the right to bear arms: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State ..." Those words were ratified in 1791, a time before a standing army, National Guard, or city, county, or state police forces.

Are militias still necessary? And beyond that, are they even legal?

Which Militia?

The legality of militias depends largely on which militia you're talking about. By strict definition, a militia is a group of private citizens who are trained for military duty in case they need to be called upon to defend their state or country in an emergency. And as the United States has grown and changed, so has the definition and sanctioning of militias.

Some states have a reserve military or state-sanctioned militia, referred to as the state guard or foot guard. For example, the New York Guard is a volunteer force that provides additional manpower and support to the New York National Guard. On the other hand, Texas considers any male citizen between the ages of 17 and 45 as belonging to the "Unorganized Reserve Militia" and the state constitution gives the county sheriff and the governor the authority to call on the unorganized reserve militia to uphold the peace, repel invasion, and suppress rebellion.

What Action?

While such state-sanctioned militias have been utilized in the past, the current, common definition of militia refers mostly to far-right paramilitary groups who see themselves as opposing a tyrannical government. In this sense, any group of private citizens with military-style weaponry and training can self-apply the term militia.

Such groups, in and of themselves, are not illegal. But they become the target of law enforcement for engaging in other illegal activity like firearms violations, tax evasion, or threats of violence.

If you're wondering if your militia is illegal, you might want to consult state law or an experienced criminal defense attorney about your rights. Tho you should only be worried if the militia your in are not on the up and up. WHICH IS WHY WE ESTABLISHED THESE STANDARDS!!

Look....

Nationwide, 41 states have some sort of law that places restrictions on private paramilitary activity. The laws generally fall into two categories: those that limit or regulate private military groups and those that limit or regulate private military training.

The penalties vary. In Idaho, training people in ways to maim or kill with the intent to further "civil disorder" is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and/or up to a $50,000 fine. In Pennsylvania, training people to use guns or bombs with intent to further civil disorder is a first-degree misdemeanor. Arizona law forbids anyone besides the government from maintaining "troops under arms"; doing so is a class 5 felony—a minor crime comparable to improperly storing used tires. Under California law, it is illegal for a "paramilitary organization" to train with weapons if it engages in "instruction or training in guerrilla warfare or sabotage."

See a Pattern here ? Don't break the law and you wont be doing anything illegal.

Even as militia members talk of the day when they might put their training to the test to resist a tyrannical government, the decision not to scrutinize militia activity from the gov more closely may be a strategic one: Simply put Prosecutors and law enforcement agencies don't want to risk angering militia supporters and generating more support for the militia movement.

We will post more information on this so your more aware of your local laws.

We are disappointed in a lot of the feedback we have gotten from establishing these standards and practices. We are not trying to tell anyone how to run there units we are only saying this is what we would prefer to maintain the integrity of the site.

People want the freedom to do what ever they want even if that included illegal activity.

You have our words as staff here we will not knowingly connect you with any unit that puts you in any sort of danger. If you see anything illegal being discussed on this site REPORT it immediately your identity will be kept anonymous.

We strictly forbid any unit from recruitment here that has any sort of malicious intent.

Good comment, John. The "spread out" comment is key here, and I will cover that in a little bit. As many people as were in militias in their own circles today, we knew that there were many people outside the circles looking around wanting to better themselves through skill building and also wanting to better serve their country as citizens. The word "militia" has been portrayed negatively, and it has also been the recipient of smear campaigns by those not wanting a force capable of removing foul stench politicians from the pantry of our government. We recognize that our Founding Fathers knew well that the involvement of a citizen militia was critical to the long term survival of our country. Citizens are most active in their local areas, and this is where patriots are most engaged with each other. Building a personal relationship with others is critical to team building and critical to any operations and events conducted by the groups. As great as a national group may be, we just can't achieve the team building and site response readiness necessary to make us an effective functional group. The local patriot citizens are much more involved and educated in their neighborhood environment than any out of state person could be.
