ANOTHER Gun Control Bill Makes Its Way Through CA Senate

On Tuesday, the California State Senate voted in favor of Senate Bill 497, which would restrict Californians from purchasing or transferring more than one firearm in a 30-day period.

“There is no need or reason why a person would need to purchase more than one gun a month,” the bill’s sponsor, Sen. Anthony Portantino (D-La Cañada Flintridge), said during the floor debate.

According to gun control advocates, the concern is people who purchase multiple guns in a 30-day period are buying the firearms to sell on the black market via straw purchases.

“This is yet another example of the government trying to infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens,” Sen. Jeff Stone (R-Murrieta) told the Los Angeles Times.

The bill is currently headed to the State Assembly for a vote.

This legislation is ignorant for many reasons but for one, it fails to take into account a number of scenarios – like a child inheriting their parents’ gun collection. By law, gun owners are required to transfer their firearms into the heir’s name so the Department of Justice has the most up-to-date information on file. Would they have to transfer one gun per month in order to abide by this “cool off” period?

Once again, California proves they don’t acknowledge that criminals don’t follow the laws already on the books.

If you have ever visited California in the last few years, you totally understand the bill! Many of the people on the coast have been indulging in drugs, meds, tainted sea food and have bounced their skulls off the pavement more than a few times! I can't wait to get the HELL out of here!
