So today was my first call in date and i haven't been selected but I'm still in call so I gotta call in every Friday after 6:15 until after June there tryna take my vacation.

You're looking at it the wrong way.  In America, the citizen has three votes.  I'm sorry, but those who told you we were a Democracy with one man, one vote are full of ... well we needn't go there.  You have THREE votes:

 

1) Your vote at the ballot box

2) Your vote on the Grand Jury

3)  Your vote on a regular jury 

 

Let me give it to you from a legal perspective.  Chief Justice John Jay ruled in a United States Supreme Court decision:

 

"...on the one hand, it is presumed, that juries are the best judges of facts, it is, on the other hand, presumable that the court is the best judge of law. But still both objects are lawfully, within your power of decision."

In other words,  when you are on a jury, you are as powerful as the Executive, Judicial and Legislative branches of government.  If a law is bad, the jury can over-rule it.  It's an awesome responsibility knowing that you can nullify unconstitutional laws.  See the following links before saying it sucks:
