Greg Laurie's Harvest America draws 350,000

Some 350,000 people were there in person, in small groups, or online for the recent Harvest America by Greg Laurie at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, ministry officials have announced.

It’s not that that number means anything, but the number of lives affected does, according to Laurie, a WND columnist.

“We only celebrate these statistics because they represent the personal lives changed by the transformative Gospel message,” Laurie said. “We pray that each and every one of these individuals gets connected with a local church and begins growing in their faith, sharing what has happened to them with others in their circles of influence. That is our prayer for the ultimate impact of this event, because that is how true revival begins.”

Laurie is the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, and Harvest Orange County in Irvine, California, at 15,000 among the largest churches in America. The ministry began with a couple dozen people when he was just 19.

Then in 1990, Laurie launched large-scale public evangelistic events called Harvest Crusades, which now have ministered to more than 5.4 million people.

The most recent event drew 82,000 to pack the stadium in Arlington, but also had more than 180,000 attending remove venues in all 50 states.

Officials reported on Thursday, “The trackable online audience was also impressive. Nearly 90,000 viewed the webcast at Harvest America.

An estimated 25,300 made faith commitments during the events.

The organizers and volunteers now are working to connect each person who had a question or inquiry with someone who can respond, officials said.

“Not trackable, but perhaps of even greater importance, is the number of individuals reached through the radio and television broadcasts of the event. More than 600 radio stations carried the audio while the full event was broadcast live on JUCE TV programming on SkyAngel channel 264 on Dish Network. It was also televised later that evening on Trinity Broadcasting Network’s international platform,” organizers explained.

Besides conducting evangelistic outreaches, Harvest Ministries produces “A New Beginning,” an international radio program featuring messages by Laurie.

Laurie has written dozens of books, many of them available at the WND Superstore.

They include “Why, God?” “Hope for America,” “Run To Win: How To Finish Strong In The Race Of Life,” “His Christmas Presence,” “What Every Christian Needs To Know,” “As I See It,” ” Signs of the Times” and “The Greatest Stories Ever Told.”

He’s also been the driving force behind video projects such as “Lost Boy: The Next Chapter” and “Preach The Word Prophecy Conference.”

He’s also a regular columnist on WND’s commentary pages.

Just two years ago, there were 20,000 attending the event which was held that year at American Airlines Center in Dallas, with another 100,000 participating at thousands of host locations around the nation.
